Patriot Peek at the Week News

We welcomed back our K-7 Wolf Ridge Patriots this past week for the first few days of our journey of learning together. We also hosted Kindergarten Orientation, Stop & Drop Supply Night, and Preschool Orientation. It was wonderful to see all of our students and families filling our hallways. We can't wait to welcome our preschool students for their first day this Monday, August 22nd. This is going to be one amazing adventure. Thank you for going on this road trip together with us this year.

As your child(ren) transition back to school, please encourage them. Encourage healthy eating, bedtimes, and good routines that will help with homework and study skills throughout the school year. If you have any questions or concerns along the way, please reach out to your child's teacher via email. They are eager and willing to help in any way to ensure your child's success at school. Together, we will make it a great school year for everyone no matter the twists and turns or road blocks on our path. We will reach our final destination together. #destinationsuccess

WOLF RIDGE DROP OFF:

PreK students and their siblings can be dropped off in the front circle by the cafeteria double doors. It would help if preschool parents do not drop off until closer to 8:00am to avoid interference with our buses. If you do drop off at the same time as the buses, please remember that you are never allowed to pass a stopped school bus.

All other students should be dropped off in the car line just off of East Alton Street anytime between 7:30-8:10. PAC students can be dropped off at this same location anytime between 6:00-8:00. We will be there to greet you each day!

WOLF RIDGE PICK UP:

Pick up will take place in the carline off of East Alton Street. Please do not start lining up in the carline until 2:30 or after. The first car rider student will not be released until 3:00. If you are picking your child up from school at Wolf Ridge, you will need a car tag. Car tags were distributed by teachers at both Kindergarten Orientation and Stop&Drop Night. If you do not have a car tag, please contact the school office at 618-585-4831. We will let you know your special number. While we have made special car tags, please feel free to write the number on a blank sheet of paper and put it in your car window so that it is visible to our dismissal crew. The numbers have changed since last year.

Students in preschool will not need a car tag as they will be picked up at the preschool double doors in front of the building by the cafeteria.

PAC students can be picked up anytime from 3:30-6:00 just inside the cafeteria. Please enter the building through the double doors in front of the cafeteria where the awning is located. Students in this program need to be signed out each day by an approved pick up person.

The first day of school for our preschool students will be on Monday, August 22nd!

DROP OFF & PICK UP:

PreK students and their siblings can be dropped off by the cafeteria double doors under the awning. PreK only students can also be picked up in this same location. However, if your child has older siblings, pick up will be at the carline.

We are excited to again offer the option of before and after school childcare for our families at Wolf Ridge. We are currently looking for a new PAC Coordinator. Anyone interested can apply by simply sending a resume and letter of interest to either sronen@bhcusd.org or tdugan@bhcusd.org. Until we find a coordinator, Mrs. Ronen will be acting as the PAC Coordinator and our Wolf Ridge staff will be supervising students before and after school. If you have any questions, please email Principal Ronen at sronen@bhcusd.org.

Before school PAC students can be dropped off in the morning anytime between 6:00-8:00 AM in the car line off East Alton Street on the side of our building. A Wolf Ridge staff member will be there to greet your child.

After school PAC students can be picked up in the cafeteria anytime between 3:30-6:00 PM. Students need to be signed out by an approved pick up person each day. Please enter through the double doors under the awning.

NEW DAILY RATES AVAILABLE ($20/day for BOTH and $15/day for EITHER before OR after)

Weekly Rate for Both Before & After School: $80/week

Weekly Rate for Before School Only: $45/week

Weekly Rate for After School Only: $55/week

DAILY Rate for Both Before & After School: $20/each day

DAILY Rate for Either Before OR After: $15/each day

Full Day Rate for Non-Attendance School Days: $25/each day

(There is a 10% discount for more than one child.)

Please let our PAC Coordinator, Mrs. Ronen, know when to expect your child at PAC by emailing sronen@bhcusd.org or calling PAC at 618-585-4831. Families can register at anytime at least one week in advance. The registration fee is $25 per family.

Tryouts will take place on August 29th and 30th from 3:30-5:00 at the Wolf Ridge Gym. All athletes will need a physical on file in the school office to be able to tryout.

The 6th and 7th grade teachers sent out information about how to register for the REMIND APP account for each class your child is enrolled. Be sure to register for each individual teacher's account. If you did not receive this information from your child, ask him/her to bring up the information on the Google Classroom page for each class. If you have any questions, please email your child's teacher. The Remind App will be the main way that junior high teachers will communicate important information about assignments and upcoming events directly to parents.

Any parent/guardian of a Wolf Ridge student is encouraged to participate and get involved with PFK. This is a great way to support our school and students. The meetings will take place the last Monday of each month at 6:30 at Wolf Ridge. We hope you will join!
