Hello Charger Families!
My name is Susan Burt, and I am proud to serve as your campus Principal! On behalf of our teachers and staff, I want to welcome you to the 2023-2024 school year! The administrative team (above) has been hard at work preparing for what promises to be an EXCITING, UNFORGETTABLE and IMPACTFUL school year as we complete our final year as Forest Meadow JH and begin our transition to Forest Meadow Middle School, which will officially open for the 2024-2025 school year!
We are so excited to welcome these upcoming changes, but first, we need your help! We know that FMJH has had a huge impact on the community, students, parents, and beyond since opening its doors in 1967. Please take a few minutes and complete the form below to share some of your favorite memories as a Charger and how this amazing school impacted you! We will be celebrating FMJH all year long. Be on the lookout for more communication about updates and events.

Our school is undergoing a major facelift as we prepare to open the doors of Forest Meadow Middle School. The construction not only includes abatement and renovations of our existing building but includes a 58,305-square-foot addition with windows! The project includes the addition of 23 classrooms to include Fine Arts, STEM, Weight/Locker Room, and a Storm Shelter. We also have a reconfigured kitchen and expansion to the cafeteria (including windows), renovation of existing science labs, and sit improvements, including additional parking, landscaping, and new tennis courts.
This project begins the shift in RISD Junior High School model to incorporate 6th graders from elementary to middle.
We can't wait to watch the change in our building, help set the example for other JH's and celebrate the IMPACT that is Forest Meadow Junior High!
Check out a few photos from the summer renovations - can you tell we are excited about the windows??

Chromebook Insurance
The 2023-24 Chromebooks Device Repair and Replacement Program (DRRP) has been added to SchoolPay based on all currently active enrolled students within Focus.
We are happy to announce that there is no increase in the program cost. It remains at $20 per Chromebook or $10 per Chromebook for Free and Reduced Lunch Students.
Chromebook insurance is a requirement for all students - Please click on the button below to pay for this year's insurance.
Once you login to School Pay (using the parent email associated with Focus), then all fees/programs (not just technology) will be in your cart as SchoolPay is now a district-wide tool.

CIS & FM need your help.
We are saddened to announce that our long-time partnership with Communities in Schools (CIS) will not be returning for the 23-24 school year. As a Title I campus, we relied heavily on CIS to support our students and families with school supplies, snacks, weekend meals, clothing, and so much more.
It is our goal to continue the work that CIS did for our school by continuing to support students with the necessities needed in order to be successful in and out of the classroom.
If you are able and would like to donate school supplies, backpacks, snacks, etc., please click on the buttons below to access the FMJH Amazon Storefronts. Ordering is simple, click on the item or items you would like to donate, add to your cart, and complete the order. The items will be directly shipped to FMJH in the care of Lydia Martinez, who will place them in our FMJH communities in the school office.
We are so appreciative of our community and could not do this important work without you!!

23-24 Meal Benefits
To receive meal benefits for the 2023-2024 school year, families must complete a meal benefit application. Parents at all RISD campuses must sign up their families if they wish to receive school meal benefits.
Click on the button below to sign up for Meal Benefits!
SchoolCafe - Meal Account
Richardson ISD is implementing a new school cafeteria payment system for 2023-24, called SchoolCafe, and will no longer be using the PayPams service.
Any existing balances in PayPams will automatically be transferred to SchoolCafe once a returning family creates a SchoolCafe account. All RISD families who plan to use school cafeterias for student meals in the coming school year should create a SchoolCafe account.
Through the SchoolCafe App, a parent can:
- -Deposit funds to pay for cafeteria meals for enrolled students
- -Check balances or move funds among enrolled students
- -Apply for free or reduced cost meal benefits
- -Monitor student meal or cafeteria item purchases
Immunization Requirements
By law, Richardson ISD must have an immunization record for each student on file. These records should be up-to-date at the time of registration. Records must show the month, day and year of each dose of vaccine and must be validated by a physician’s signature or a public health clinic card. Records must also have the student’s name and date of birth on the record.
Children entering Richardson ISD for the first time must present written verification of the required immunizations at the time of enrollment.
Required Immunizations:
Required Immunizations vary by grade level. Click on the link below to see a complete list of requirements for each grade level.
