The PBIS Committee would like to thank the IAF families and staff for your generous donations. Whether you registered your student and/or gave the gift of a monetary donation, your giving spirit will be truly appreciated by our IAF scholars. All students who registered received PBIS Rewards points. Those who received donations of $25 or more received a free dress down pass. The class that received the most donations was Mrs. Ivey's 3rd grade class. Mrs. Ivey's class will celebrate with an ice cream party on December 4th. We raised a total $406.25. Your gift will put us closer to a fun-filled, mid-year or end-of-year field trip for our amazing students who demonstrate being Safe, On-Task, Accountable and Respectful (SOAR). We look forward to hearing your feedback about the fundraiser and collaborating with those of you who have ideas and suggestions for other fundraisers that will help us reach our goal. Did you know that two to four missed days in the first month of school increases the likelihood of chronic absence throughout the year? It is imperative that your IAF scholar is at school every day for the full day. Daily attendance matters, for student well-being and academic success, at every grade level. School begins at 8:00 AM and dismisses at 3:28 PM, unless otherwise noted on our annual school calendar.

Morning tardies and early dismissal is disruptive to the learning environment for your IAF scholar and the entire class. If at all possible, please schedule doctor and routine appointments outside of school time. Thank you for partnering with us!

Missing school adds up and adversely affects a scholar’s academic performance. This is a reminder of the Attendance process for the 2023-2024 school year. The Family and Community Engagement (FACE) team is here to support if you and your family are experiencing challenges or barriers to attending school regularly.

Have you heard the news? IAF now has PBIS for adults! What is this and what does it mean? This is an opportunity for our IAF parents/guardians/caregivers to earn points for attending parent meetings, workshops, special events and a host of other activities. Look for the total number of points to be earned on our flyers. Scan the QR Code posted during the event to earn points. Points can be redeemed for household items in PARC.

High School Ladies that tried out for Cheer! I would like to shoutout and praise all of the high school girls who tried out for cheerleading. They all cheered for each other as they entered and exited the room. They spoke affirmations into one another. Some did not leave until everyone tried out. It was a beautiful thing to see.

Please congratulate the high school girls who made the cheer team. They worked extremely hard and it showed in their tryouts.

If you are coming into the office to request early dismissal, students will not be released after 3:00. It is too challenging and too disruptive to request the number of students being asked for early dismissal. We understand that transportation reductions are challenging, and we have been consistently working with MTA on this. However, it is a county wide problem unfortunately. Thank you for understanding and your patience in advance.

Parents/Guardians- do you have a phone number/address that needs to be updated with us? We have a form in the office that you can fill out for a quick change. Or you can email either Ms. McKinley in our records department at smckinley@iafphoenix.org. It is extremely important to have the most current contact information for our families on file at all times. Please, be sure to let us know if this changes.

Parents/Guardians- Our school utilizes the SchoolMessenger system to deliver auto dialers to our families in case of a school closure, reminders of events, or simply a dress down day, etc.

We would like to start to utilize the texting option as well on SchoolMessenger but we do not currently have that many families signed up for the text alerts.

You can participate in the free service by just sending a text message of "Y" or "YES" to our school's short code number 67587.

You can also opt out of these messages at any time by simply replying to one of our messages with the word "STOP". SchoolMessenger is compliant with the Student Privacy Pledge, so you can rest assured that your information is safe and will never be given or sold to anyone.

Locks and bus passes will be available for sale in the main office. Students who wish to purchase can do so from 7:35 - 8:00 am and 3:30 - 4:00 pm. Parents can visit the office at any time to purchase for their student(s).

Does your child need a wellness visit, sports physical, or vaccine including COVID-19? Just make sure your child has a consent form on file with us and we can schedule an appointment for you. These can even be done during the school day without a parent/guardian having to miss work. Consent forms are also available in the Main Office or in our Health Clinic. This is a great opportunity for you to take advantage of, but you cannot do so without a consent form on file.
