Hello SHES Families!

I don't know about you, but I'm still in disbelief at the size, decorations, booths, kids laughing, and silent auction baskets at the Fall Festival. The Fall Festival was by far the BIGGEST and most successful Fall Festival to date, and it's all due to everyone's determination and volunteer hours put in behind the scenes. Shadow Hills PTA, teachers, families, and students are the best out there. At the end of the night, as I was dragging myself to my car, I was reflecting on the last few months of being principal of Shadow Hills, and I couldn't be prouder of being a part of such a dedicated team and welcoming community. Thank you for everything you do for our school and students. I appreciate you more than words can convey.

Please also remember to be hyper-aware of your surroundings during drop-off and pick-up. Please review the SHES Parking Lot Guidelines. Please do not double park on Harbison in front of the school. Everyone's safety is a top priority.

The Great California ShakeOut

AUSD participated in the Great California Shakeout Thursday, October 21 at 10:21 am.

All schools did a fantastic job!

Halloween Costume Guidelines

This year, our Fall Festival and Halloween fall on different weekends. Students are asked to only dress up at school on Friday, October 29th. We wanted to give you plenty of time to ready those costumes with these guidelines in mind:

  • No weapons of any kind

  • No blood/gore

  • Costume must be school appropriate

  • No mask that covers the entire head and face

  • No costumes that promote the use of illegal substances or activities, or are derogatory, violent or disrespectful

Halloween Costume Parade

On Friday, October 29, we will be having our Halloween Costume Parade around campus. Parents that are wanting to watch, are asked to stand on the grass or dirt outside their child's classroom. Classes will be walking up and down each hallway. Parents staying in one spot will be able to see all classes come by. Once the parade is over, there will be an announcement asking all parents to please say their goodbyes and leave campus so instruction can begin. If you are taking photos, please respect others privacy and only post photos of your own child to social media.

Our First PBIS Assembly

Our first Spirit/PBIS Assembly was on Friday, October 22. We had wonderful conversations about our No Place for Hate Pledge with our students as well as played some fun Halloween themed Minute to Win It games!

A Message From Our PTA

Hello Shadow Hills Family,

On behalf of our entire PTA, we would like to extend our gratitude for making our 2021 Fall Festival the best one in our school’s history. The Fall Festival was a huge undertaking that could have never been possible without the help of all of our staff, student and community volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and most importantly, all of YOU. We appreciate the outpouring of support from everyone in every form, from candy to monetary donations and everything in between, and most importantly, your time and dedication. It was heartwarming to see the community come together with our campus for this event that has been missing for so long. We hope that you all enjoyed yourself. As the PTA, we look forward to the continuation of enriching our campus, students, and staff during the remainder of this year. All of the proceeds of this event will continue to make possible before, after, and in school activities, extra classroom needs for teachers, including but not limited to field trips and art docent programs, birthday table treats for each student, and campus beautification. We want to give a special THANK YOU to our administration, teachers, and staff of Shadow Hills for all of your time and hard work in making our vision a reality. We are truly fortunate to have all of you. We hope you made priceless memories, ate good food, and took lots of pictures. Please stay tuned for information on sharing your memories and photos in our 2021-2022 yearbook. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.
