Congrats to the Mineral Point MS/HS Trap Team for a great Spring Conference Season in the Wisconsin State High School Clay Target League! The team finished 2nd in their conference behind Denmark and looks forward to the State Meet coming up June 12 at Rome!

Great representation from #PointerNation in Monday's Memorial Day Parade! Thank you to everyone who took time out of their day to honor the fallen.

Congratulations to the middle school artists who entered their artwork into the Helen Mears Annual Art Competition! This is an art competition for 7th and 8th grade students and Mineral Point brought home many awards.

A huge shout out to Hudson Schroeder's 3-D Art "Stitch" which not only received 1st place at the local level but went on to receive 1st place at the district level. The district competition is made of many local competitors from all over WI, including Division 1 schools. Congratulations to these young artists!

The Mineral Point Kiwanis club was so excited to be back at the elementary for their annual read-in campaign! Thank you to the club for reading and then donating the books to classroom libraries. Kiwanis members whor read include: Tom Schraeder, Ashley Tibbits, Joelle Doye, Dick Josh, Don Hay, Lisa Hay, Kanndie Basting, Linda Hurley, Mo Grimm, Diane Palzkill, and Julie Stephenson.

Our Student Book Budget Team celebrated their book arrivals last week! They have done such a great job showing ownership in the library and helping pick out new selections.

The high school choir recently went on their spring goodwill tour, spreading the joy of song around the area!

Another great Pointer tradition we take pride in is, on Memorial Day Weekend, having our high school students assist the American Legion and VFW with the assembly of hundreds of Mineral Point veterans' flags buried in our city cemeteries. The Avenue of Flags is a beautiful sight as we remember those who defended our freedoms.

A big congrats to our #PointerNation Golf Team for winning the WIAA Regional at Dodge-Point, besting 2nd place Lancaster by 28 strokes! This is MP's 6th consecutive Regional title! Individually, Eli Lindsey was 2nd, Carson Kroll 3rd, Alex Ross 4th, Ollie Mitchell 6th, and Reid Acherman 9th. Mineral Point now advances to the WIAA Sectional at Markesan Tuesday, May 31. Friday was Maintenance Director Roger Palzkill's last day of work before his retirement after 32 years with #PointerNation! During the high school awards assembly Wednesday, Principal Austin presented Roger with a student-made sign that will be hung to commemorate Palzkill Perch where Roger viewed countless sporting events over the years. Thanks for everything -- you will be missed!
