Picture retake day is Wednesday, November 1st. If your child missed picture day, they will be able to get their picture taken then. If you would like to have your child's picture retaken, please return your original picture packet on retake day. These pictures will be in the yearbook; students must be in uniform.

Auditions for the school play, "A Christmas Carol," are THIS FRIDAY, September 22nd from 1:00 to 3:00, immediately after school in Room 210 (Mrs. Swanson's room). These auditions are open to all junior high students. Elementary students in grades 3-6 are also invited to participate in small group auditions, commencing promptly at 1:00 and concluding around 1:20. Please note that for this play, casting opportunities for elementary students are limited.

By September 18th, an audition sign up sheet will be available outside Mrs. Swanson's classroom, along with audition forms on a table outside. There will be a brief pre-audition meeting on September 19th.

Audition requirements:

• Elementary students are not required to prepare anything ahead of time and will receive script sides to read during the small group auditions.
• Junior high students are expected to arrive prepared with a memorized 60-second monologue of their choice.

Starting Monday we will be hosting an after school homework club from 3:05 - 3:35 in room 205 Monday - Thursday. This club is for anyone who needs a quiet place to do their homework for a half an hour after school and is open to all grades.

Parents, please talk to your children about running across lanes of traffic at pick-up. We are seeing far too many kids running in front of cars instead of crossing at the crosswalks.

ATTENTION PARENTS!!

During the fall of a student’s 9th grade year, I review their plan for graduating high school. This is a one on one interview to discuss graduation requirements and their future plans for post high school training. I will begin these interviews during Parent Teacher Conferences to give the parents an opportunity to participate in the conversation.

This marks the culmination of our 10th-anniversary gear collection—no further orders will be made. Students who have a 10th-anniversary shirt or crew neck sweatshirt are invited to proudly don them on the 10th day of each month, paired with jeans, as a tribute to our remarkable decade at Ascent Academies of Utah!

The T-shirts are priced at $10 (+$3 for larger adult sizes), while the crewneck sweatshirts are available for $17 (+$3 for larger adult sizes).

In addition, we'd like to remind everyone that at all our campuses, students are permitted to wear Ascent sweatshirts in class on any day, provided that the appropriate polo collar remains visible.
