Positive thinking!

As you know, it's so easy to turn on the local news and see what's going on with our county. The hard part is staying focused though it. I recognize Johnston County Public Schools is facing a great deal of adversity, but let us remember to stay focused on our mission, the business of teaching, supporting, and advocating for our students. The video does have a religious reference and I tried to find one without as to not offend anyone, but I know that the message is worth it.

There are many teachers, administrators, and parents posting with the #spreadthepositivejoco and #jocostrong. This is positive that we must focus on! Thank you to those who have posted this weekend the wonderful things about our county instead of spreading the latest news.

Rules Assembly

New Art has been hung up near the art room and around the office. Thank you, Mrs. Murphy, for inspiring our students to experiment, imagine, and create. Thank you, Lady for posting this picture and highlighting her accomplishments.

Please be sure to review the discipline plan with your grade levels in PLC. Remember, behaviors need to be documented and addressed immediately. Deescalate as much as possible and remember to show grace when you can.

Quick Message to 3-5 Teachers

We are attempting to get organized to implement the intervention program Do the Math. We will be looking at Tier 2 and Tier 3 students using MAP, EOG, and report card data to create our groups. This email is to request that you possibly assess these students (and any others you have concerns about) in MAP Math as soon as possible. This way we can have all the data ready to go and start planning. After this, we will be meeting with teachers to discuss next steps.
