A Note from Dr. Neubeck
It is so fun to have the students and staff back in our schools. The energy and the smiles are contagious when you walk through our halls. Our staff worked very hard during Workshop Week to prepare for students to insure that this year is the best year ever. I want to thank all of our families and community members who have been so instrumental in helping us be successful in meeting the needs of our students and staff. There are so many people who work behind the scenes, either donating time or raising money, and doing what they can to make Byron Public Schools a great place to learn and work.
As the Superintendent, I am excited to be in my second year in Byron. Previously, I was a middle school principal for 11 years in Mahtomedi Public Schools. This community is awesome and exactly what I was looking for when applying for a Superintendent's position. The first year was not without some challenges, but I am proud of the way we handled them as a group of people working together. Byron, with the great community and model schools, has a bright future and I feel fortunate to be a part of it.
For those who do not know me, I have been married to my wife, Peggy, for 31 years and we moved to Byron this past April. We moved from Hugo, MN which is just north of White Bear Lake and about 12 miles from St. Paul. We have four children ranging in ages 19 to 27 and have a two-year old grandson and a five-month old granddaughter. We enjoy golfing, biking, and attending high school events. Byron certainly feels like home to us.
Have a wonderful year and don't hesitate to reach out to our staff if you need help. We have great people who want to make this a fantastic year for you and your family.

The Profile of a Graduate is the model we use to live out the District's Strategic Plan on a daily basis. It has been 5 year since we first implemented the Profile of a Graduate and we continue to find ways to teach the six Cs: Creativity, Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Citizenship, and Character. We will be assessing its effectiveness and how we can improve moving forward. You may be asked to complete feedback throughout the year because it is important that we listen to you about how we can better meet the needs of your students.

Construction Update
The construction plans continues to move forward and it will be great to watch our facilities transform over the next 18 months. It is exciting to see the progress and to think about what great facilities we will soon have for our students and our community.
