Daily Activity
We will provide a new activity each day Monday through Friday during the unexpected school closure. Keep your mind active by completing each day's activity.
Start a streak! How many days in a row will you accomplish the daily activity for your level?
Activity of the Day - March 31, 2020
Word of the Day
Pulse - a rhythmic beating in the arteries caused by the beating of the heart. An example of a pulse is the throbbing beat felt at the wrist.
All Levels
1. Find your pulse before starting the activity.
- Elementary Students: Take two fingers and press them onto the underside of your wrist towards the thumb side of your wrist. Feel for the pulse or throbbing beat under your fingers. Pay attention to the speed of your pulse. You’ll be comparing it later!
- Middle School and High School Students: To check your pulse at your wrist, place two fingers between the bone and the tendon over your radial artery — which is located on the thumb side of your wrist. When you feel your pulse, count the number of beats in 15 seconds. Multiply this number by four to calculate your beats per minute. Write this down – you’ll be comparing it later!
2. Physical Activity – Ladder Jumps
- - Take sidewalk chalk and draw out 6 squares in a row – See image below.
3. Follow through the 10 ladder jump activities
4. RIGHT AFTER completing the 10 ladder jump activities, take your pulse again following the same steps to take is as you did before.
