BCSVA END OF YEAR CELEBRATION!
- We are amazed that we are closing in on the end of year two of our new school!
- Celebrate the year with us as a full-school K-12 picnic!
- If you are interested in attending, please help us plan for food by completing this form to let us know if you plan to stop by the End of the Year Picnic at Silver-Line Park in Woodfin.
- We will be grilling up hotdogs and hamburgers (both meat and vegan).
- You are also welcome to bring your own snacks!
- We have rented both pavilions at Silverline Park but you may want to bring your camp chair as well!

LEARNING & GROWING! WE ARE ALMOST THERE, AHH, SUMMER!
Ms. Doran's Kinder, 1st, and 2nd-grade classes!
- Our Final Park meet-up will be Wednesday, May 24th at Lake Julian.
- As testing is upon us this upcoming month, weekly schedules will change.
- Please be on the lookout for those updates as they come.
- Please make sure you have signed up for testing this month.
Ms. Ransom's 3rd and 4th Grade Classes!
- We are looking forward to our EOG practice party!
- We aim to bring our kiddos into the testing environment and practice strategies to feel comfortable and confident!
- This day will allow our students to practice logging onto the NC State Testing Site and completing some practice questions.
- We will make a special keepsake to help motivate our students to knock the socks off their EOGs.
- Third grade is Tuesday 5/16 at 10:00.
- Our fourth-grade class will come together in person on Monday 5/15.
- First up, the optional Healthy Living/What is Property class.
- Next, we will dig right into our practice testing environment!
- These events will be followed by a pizza party on the porch to celebrate these amazing young people.
Ms. Chiavaras' 5th and 6th Grade Classes!
- 5th and 6th, we cannot wait for our EOG practice party!
- This event will be happening on May 15!
- (5th grade from 9-12 noon and 6th grade from 11-3)
- We will practice getting on the testing site and completing some practice questions in a low-stress environment.
- We will decorate our EOG socks so we can “Sock it to the EOG!"
- 5th Grade - Optional: Students can participate in on-campus Healthy Living/What is Property class.
- I look forward to seeing you all there!
- Until then we will keep cruising through the standards and strengthening our math and reading skills.
- We are just finishing up another round of testing and we continue to use this data to fill gaps in understanding.
- 5th grade is discovering our Mysterious Universe!
- 6th grade is studying cause and effect text structure with A Black Hole in Not a Black Hole.
Let's work together to develop strategies for test stress! It is a real deal :)

Introduction to Puberty -Healthful Living Essential Standards -4th/5th Grade
- The Growth and Development -Puberty classes are for 4th and 5th-grade students. (45 minutes)
- These are taught gender separate because the teachers focus on the physiological body at that age.
- There is also a 6th-grade presentation that is one hour in length.
IF you prefer to share this content with your child at home, you can view the slideshows with their students at these links 4-6 grade presentations.
