Cougar Staff,
We are heading into January's last couple of days and entering February! We are off and running into this second half of the year! Thank you all for your help with getting our students tested over the last couple of weeks with MOY mCLASS. We are excited to see our students growing this year! Continue to hold high expectations for all of your students! Please complete peer observations and lock them by January 31, 2024. In addition, please make sure you submit all field trip request documentation by January 31, 2024.
Mrs. Rodriguez will be out for the next two weeks. Mrs. Tant will be out the week of February 5th. Please see the specials coverage for the following two weeks. Please let Mrs. Gonzalez know if you see any conflicts in the schedule, or have any questions. Please work together to make sure our wonderful instructional assistants get a break. Thank you to everyone for your flexibility.

Important Reminders
- Lesson plans are due by 5 pm on Thursday and will be checked!
- Take two minutes to complete the check-in included in the newsletter. We are here to support you; this is an excellent opportunity to share your feelings and to tell us how we can better help you.
Field Trips
February 13th - February 16th
March 20th- March 22nd
April 11th- April 17th
No more field trips should be scheduled after Spring Break, except district field trips.
- Teachers please make a calculation about the cost of the field trip using the following information:
- Bus per mile: Gas rate per mile is $3.01
- Drive Fee: $17.25 an hour
- If a student has a financial need for a field trip, please let us know.
Teachers, please secure all field trips with the different venues you will be visiting for the rest of the school year.
Complete the field trip form and parent letter. (Example Letter)
Submit it to Mrs. Carey for approval.
If we go ahead and plan those field trips, it will give us good timing to secure buses and drivers.
Field trip reminders
Communicate field trip information to parents.
Send permission slips home and parent information letter.
Leave a copy of the field trip form in your box, and take one copy with you on the field trip.
Notify the cafeteria of the grade-level lunch plans four weeks before the field trip.
All field trip forms that grade levels plan to take for the remainder of the school year must be turned in by January 31, 2024.

Daily:
All staff present by 7:15 AM (In the classroom or duty location)
Students may begin entering at 7:20 and will report to the cafeteria.
At 7:40, all students will report to HR class.
Any student arriving between 7:40-8:00 will eat breakfast in the cafeteria before going to class

Fitness Club
Feel free to join Mrs. Davis, Ms. Carey, and Mrs. Gonzalez for a low-impact, all-standing workout! Check out the benefits! This is not required; it is something fun to keep us all going strong and lose a few pounds here and there!

100th Day of School
February 7th is the 100th day of school. We invite staff and students to dress up like they are 100 years old.
NEW Check-In/Out Time for Student Attendance
In order for students to be counted in attendance for the school day they must check-in no later than 10:20AM and must not check-out earlier than 12:40PM. These check-in and check-out times reflect and align with NCPS Board Policy 4400.
