Dear Hyde-Addison ES Families,

Please be reminded that there will be no school for students on November 22, 2023 - November 24, 2023. But, we look forward to seeing all students on Monday and Tuesday of next week, prior to the break. We will start off the week with International Night, on November 20, 2023. Additional information is available in the newsletter.

Due to the holiday, there will be no Family Newsletter next week.

Families may choose to have their child get a photo taken on makeup day by filling out this form, if they also have their media release form signed and on file with the school. Only families who sign their student up prior to COB November 27 at 4:30pm will be eligible to have their photo taken on makeup day.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Math Night has been rescheduled for December 7, 2023, 5:30pm-7:00pm. Thank you for your understanding and the team looks forward to engaging with our families.

Each year, DCPS asks all families to complete the Impact Aid survey to generate additional federal funds for DCPS. The surveys will be fully electronic using the Seamless platform.

Now's the time to set up your online shop for our upcoming Double Good Popcorn sale, which starts on Monday, November 13 at noon. This fundraiser helps you check some holiday gifts off your list while supporting the school! Our sales goal is $10,000 with 50% of all sales going to the PTA and the school.

Sign up to sell popcorn today in three simple steps - 1) downloading the DoubleGood app, 2) entering our event code: NXUBZX, and 3) setting up your online store. Popcorn ships directly to the buyer, making it easy to share with family and friends that aren't local.

The top ten sellers at Hyde will be entered into a raffle.

Help us finish this year's Great Envelope Race, the PTA's biggest fundraiser of the year, strong. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we have raised 74% and just over $37,000 of our goal of $50,000 to help bridge the gap between the school's operating budget and the funds provided by DCPS.

To join the effort before this campaign closes on November 15:
- Make your donation online, either one-time at www.hydegift.com or recurring at www.hydemonthlygift.com.

- Or pick up a blue envelope in the main office and return it to your teacher or the main office with whatever amount you choose enclosed.

- Ask family members like grandparents and neighbors to participate too!

While the suggested donation is $400 per student, all donations are appreciated and every dollar helps us provide things like books, curriculum materials and supplies, field trip scholarships, and professional development for Hyde-Addison's incredible teachers and staff. (As a reminder, donors who contribute at least $400 per student will receive a complimentary magnet, and donors at the $1,000 level per student will receive complimentary tickets to all PTA events this school year!)

The PTA’s Gala Committee is in the early planning stages of a very fun spring event, the first of its kind at Hyde since 2019! If you have connections to or suggestions for venues, please reach out to Crystal Rosario (crystal.rosario@gmail.com) and Tami Twyman (Tami.Twyman@gmail.com).

School ends at 3:25pm and students are late being picked up after 3:30pm. Please be reminded that early dismissal ends at 2:50pm and we must clear the field for aftercare students to use.
