SOME WORDS FROM OUR LIBRARY!
Battle of the Book Friends
I am missing all my Wildcat friends! I bet you are too! Remember to “Be Kind”…
“Read every day...
get lost in a book!”...
"Sing often,"...
HEY, MUSIC STUDENTS!!!!
Solo and Ensemble students did an excellent job in March!!!! So proud of each and every one of you! All of the vocalists and pianist received the top rating of a first! Some entries were class C (entry level) but some were class B (more advanced). Pictures of each participant are on the WalworthJ1Music facebook page.
7/8 Choir did an amazing job when we recorded our Festival pieces on the last day of school. You can find those recordings on my lesson plans and also on WalworthJ1Music facebook page. Very proud of all the work you did on those!
Musical was really starting to come together. Hopefully we can finish yet this year. If not, maybe in the summer or next fall. Lots to think about if school doesn't come back this spring, BUT WE WILL WORK IT OUT!!! Keep practicing your lines and songs. Maybe do a little virtual practice with each other!
Be checking the lesson plans on the school website! I hope to have some fun activities in mine. Stay healthy! Shoot me an email if you want! I would love to hear from you. Keep singing and making music!!!!
Covenant Harbor Maple Syrup Tour
Are you superstitious? Friday, the 13th is considered an unlucky day if you believe in the old superstition. There will be two Friday the 13ths in 2020 and the first one (in March) was fortunate for Walworth’s first graders. The Wildcats were able to take a field trip to Covenant Harbor in Lake Geneva, where they learned about the following:
local Native American history
how to identify and tap a maple tree
how to collect sap
the process that turns sap into maple syrup
The first graders sampled various stages of the process and enjoyed a maple syrup cookie with lemonade before returning to school. Instead of receiving the luck of the Irish, Mrs. Cruz, Mrs. Cullen and the first graders would like to thank Walworth Parents Club for providing their good fortune!
READING COUNTS IS NOW ONLINE!
Students can now log into Reading Counts online. You can find the link under Menu, then For Students and then Reading Counts. Our students are so excited to be able to do this wonderful program at home. The site looks different but the students' logins and passwords are the same.
Please email Mrs. Wenzel if you don't have a login and would like one.

ATTENTION PARENTS!
Tatianna wanted to do a science project for our own science class. So we came up with learning about non-newtonian fluid! She even made that the word of the day by memorizing the definition and how to spell it!
