Dear Parents / Carers,
It has been a great week at Kirk Fenton. The week started with two days of 'bikeability' training for some of our year 6 children where they spent time on the playground, and on local roads, finding out how to stay on their bikes. The instructors fed back to us how impressed they were with the group's fantastic attitude, as they were enthusiastic, kind and respectful. The rest of the class are doing the training next week and are looking forward to two days of cycling training.
The week ended with a fantastic assembly from Barnardo class (year 6), where they shared some of the great learning that they have been doing this term, including the highlights from their recent trip away to the North Yorkshire Moors. We were all very impressed at how well they articulated their learning. We are really looking forward to Pankhurst's class assembly next Friday at 9.05am.
One of the highlights of the year at Kirk Fenton is World Book Day, where we spend time celebrating authors and the lovely books they write for us. This year it takes place on Thursday March 7th, when we will have a day of getting comfy and sharing books together. Children are welcome to either dress up as their favourite literary character, or to come in some comfy home clothes ready for a day of sharing our favourite books and stories.
We are getting very excited about the upcoming Friends of Kirk Fenton event, the quiz and curry night taking place on Friday 8th March. This was a fantastic event last year, full of great food and great quizzing. If you would like to join us, the full details are below.
I hope you have a safe and restful weekend.
