Assistive Tech Tip of the Week
Do you have a student who struggles to get thoughts on paper due to fine motor issues, spelling difficulty, etc.? If the student has strong verbal skills, speech-to-text may be a good option to address challenges in the writing process.
Change in Staff Injury Reporting Process
The District changed Insurance Brokers for our worker’s compensation policy. Effective Friday, March 26th, we will be using USI Insurance Services.
The new service includes a Nurseline that injured staff call directly to report their injury and assists staff in finding care. The Nurseline will also complete the First Report of Injury based on the information provided. The goal is to get employees treated as quickly as possible.
Staff no longer need to complete a paper Employer Injury Report Form.
When a staff member is injured, they will call the Paradigm Nurse Triage Line at 1-844-847-8708, and the nurse will do the following:
Gather information about the injury from the staff member to complete the First Report of Injury
Provide general guidance
Help to find a medical facility near staff’s job site and/or home to receive care, if medical attention is needed
The Injury Reporting website will be updated by April 5th.
