A huge congratulations to both our Dodge-Point Boys and Girls Cross Country teams that won the Sectional at Prairie du Chien Saturday! State will be Saturday, October 30 at Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids with the boys at Noon and the girls at 1:45 pm. Tickets for the event must be purchased online this year and you will have to show them on your smartphone to gain entry. Best wishes to our State Champion Livestock Judging Team heading to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis this week -- good luck and have fun!

Mineral Point will be well represented at this week's Wisconsin School Music Association State Honors Project concerts! Thursday at 8 pm, Jazmine Cool and Ella Fox will perform with the High School Treble and Mixed Choirs at the Overture Center in Madison. Saturday at 3 pm, Julianna Cool and Josie Dunn will perform with the Middle School Band at Verona Area High School. Tickets will be available at the door for both events. All concert attendees must wear a face mask and show proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test. PBS Wisconsin and Wisconsin Public Radio will broadcast highlights from the concerts. Please plan to join us Tuesday, October 26 at 7 pm in the middle/high school gym for our 6-12th Grade Fall Choir Concert! Students have been working very hard and are excited to perform for you. There is no admission charge. If you can't join in person, the event will be recorded and posted online after. (Masks are requested for audience members and households should plan to sit together.)

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services and the CDC recommend that anyone who has symptoms of COVID-19 or who has had close contact with someone with COVID-19 be tested. The test for COVID-19 involves a quick swab of the inside of the nose. The school is working with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services on providing rapid antigen and PCR tests in school. If you would like to have the option for your child to get a PCR or antigen test at school, they must bring the attached consent form signed by a parent/guardian if they are under 18 years old. You would be contacted before any testing would occur and only if indicated per school policy. This form is being distributed now, to be collected in advance so that in the event your child needs to be tested, we would not have to wait for the form to be returned during the middle of a work or school day.
