Community Update from Principal Griffin
Dear Erie High School families,
Happy New Year! I hope that this update finds you and your family doing well, and that you enjoyed the Winter Break! We are very excited to welcome our students back to school on Monday, January 8th for our first day of the second semester of the 2023-2024 school year. We enjoyed an incredible first semester at Erie High School, as our students excelled in many ways, both inside and outside the classroom, and I am looking forward to all that is in store for our second semester.
As we begin the new semester, it is an important opportunity for our students to capitalize on the fresh start that our school calendar provides. The beginning of a new semester allows all of our students to start on a positive note and begin the calendar year with a strong academic start. During our upcoming class meetings, we will be talking with all students about the importance of consistent, timely attendance and high levels of engagement in school.
With these shared commitments, all students can thrive in our school, and find success both in and out of the classroom. It is a lot easier to maintain high quality grades than it is to raise low grades. I encourage all of our students to maintain an acute focus on high achievement to start the semester, with a strong emphasis on completing assignments with quality in a timely manner. In addition to maintaining good attendance and engagement while in class, the on-time completion of assignments is a crucial component of high levels of student academic success at Erie High School.
EHSEF FACE Concert - January 26, 2024
I am looking forward to the upcoming FACE Concert at Erie High School, hosted by the Erie High School Education Foundation. FACE is an all-vocal band from Boulder that performs over 100 concerts per year all over the world - we are very fortunate to have them perform this concert at EHS! This great community event will serve as a fundraiser for EHSEF, which has pledged at least $85,000 in scholarships to the Erie High School Class of 2024 and recent graduates. Please consider attending this unique opportunity to watch FACE perform in our very own auditorium. All interested community members can purchase tickets here at this link.
Thank you for your continued partnership in support of the success and achievement of your child(ren). I hope that you have a wonderful, relaxing weekend.
Sincerely,
Josh Griffin
Erie High School Principal
