Timeliness
PLEASE help ensure your student arrives to school on time. This may require some adjusting of alarms or time of departure from home, as your student will not likely make it to their classroom in time even if they are walking into school at 9:25am. Let's make punctuality a focus as we finish out the year strong!

Book Fair April 24-28
The Champe Library is hosting a Scholastic Book Fair from April 24-28. Students can shop the Book Fair with cash, credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. If you would like to provide money for your student without sending cash or a card, you can use Scholastic’s convenient e-wallet system (accessible from our Book Fair Website) to give your child pre-paid Book Fair credit.
The Book Fair will be open during the school day from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm each day. We will also be open after school on Wednesday from 4:30 pm – 6:00 for Family Shopping, so you can shop the fair before that evening’s PTSA meeting.
If you can’t make it to the Fair, you can shop at our school’s Online Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school.
The Book Fair will include young adult books, popular adult titles, and even a selection of books for younger siblings and our Little Knights Preschoolers. Check out some of the great middle grade and young adult titles that will be available at the Book Fair.

National Stress Awareness Month
April is National Stress Awareness Month to raise awareness of the negative impact of stress. There is no single definition for stress, but the most common explanation is physical, mental, or emotional strain or tension. While not all stress is bad, long-term stress can have harmful impacts on physical and mental health. It’s critical to recognize what stress and anxiety look like, take steps to build resilience and manage stress, and know where to go for help. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) provides some tips on how to build resilience and manage stress. Take some time to visit their website and familiarize yourself with ways to manage your stress.
Learning what causes or triggers your stress and what coping techniques work for you can help reduce your anxiety and improve your daily life. It may take trial and error to discover what works best for you. Here are some activities you can try when you start to feel overwhelmed:
- Keep a journal.
- Download an app that provides relaxation exercises (such as deep breathing or visualization) or tips for practicing mindfulness, which is a psychological process of actively paying attention to the present moment.
- Exercise, and make sure you are eating healthy, regular meals.
- Stick to a sleep routine, and make sure you are getting enough sleep.
- Avoid drinking excess caffeine such as soft drinks or coffee.
- Identify and challenge your negative and unhelpful thoughts.
- Reach out to your friends or family members who help you cope in a positive way.
Recognize When You Need More Help: If you are struggling to cope, or the symptoms of your stress or anxiety won’t go away, it may be time to talk to a professional.
