1st Grade at BCE

Happy Monday BCE families!

1st Grade has a busy schedule this week.

We will be conducting grade level MAP Testing. [Teacher schedule below.]

Thursday, 10/29/20 students are encouraged to wear the color orange to promote anti-bullying.

Friday 10/30/20, students are allowed to wear their Halloween costume to school.

Taking place this Friday 10/30/20 are also our classroom Fall/Halloween parties! Be on standby for our super dedicated room mom's email. :)

Our learning goals for this week:

Math:

- Continue to count forward to 120 from any given number.
- Work on addition and subtraction for doubles facts.
- Generate word problems for joining and separating with the unknown in any location.

ELAR:

- Read and write with double final consonants and consonant ck.
- Identify and produce rhyme.
- Identify vowel sounds in given words.

Big Ideas:

- Identify characteristics of good citizenship.
- Write an informational text.
- Identify historical figures and their contributions to our country.

Reminder: We do not conduct small groups on the days we are MAP testing and Fridays.
