Vaccinations for Current Juniors/Rising Seniors
All rising seniors are required to show proof of vaccination prior to the start of the 2023-24 school year. The requirement is one dose of the meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY, Menactra, or Menveo) given at age 16 or older. Please note: Men B, Bexsero, and Trumenba are not the same as MenACWY. There is a vaccination event at school on March 20 from 10am-12noon. If students return the signed consent form with a copy of the student/family insurance card by March 13, the student can receive the Menactra vaccine at school on March 20. Please find the consent form linked HERE; please contact Nurse Mehta with any questions.
Opioid and Fentanyl Awareness Session
Learn more about the dangers posed by these drugs by attending a session at JCHS on March 8 from 6:30-8pm. Staff and community partners, who are substance use or mental health specialists, will review the signs of drug use and how to reach out for help, outline the scope of the opioid problem in Loudoun County, share relevant statistics and provide pertinent information about fentanyl and opioids, address effective treatment programs for teens and adults, and share information about Rapid REVIVE!, an opioid overdose program that teaches the signs of an opioid overdose and how to respond with naloxone (more commonly known as NARCAN).
LCPS is prepared for the risk of potential overdoses by stocking NARCAN at each middle and high school and training staff at each school to administer the treatment. All School Resource Officers for Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office carry it as well. LCPS is also increasing training opportunities for school administrators, directors of school counseling and athletic directors to learn how to administer NARCAN.

March 8-9 SOL Testing
The EOC Writing SOL will be administered at John Champe High School on March 8th and 9th, 2023 to all 11th grade students. The Writing SOL consists of two different sections completed over two days: multiple choice and short paper. Students will complete the multiple choice section on March 8th and the short paper section on March 9th. Testing begins at 9:15am; room locations were emailed to students February 24.
Note: Students who attend the Academies of Loudoun will test at John Champe only on the days that they attend John Champe. They will attend the make-up test days on March 15th or 16th.
Click to access the Practice Test: After launch, select "Writing" and then "End-of Course."

Together in Education: Connect Your Harris Teeter Card
Our potential is high, but our earnings are low. Of all the families with students or teachers at John Champe, only 131 have connected their Harris Teeter VIC cards to earn donations for our school (#1351) through the TIE (Together in Education) Program.
● It’s easy: https://tie.harristeeter.com/together-in-education#/app/cms
● It’s free: when you shop Harris Teeter brands, a percentage of your purchase is donated by Harris Teeter to the school linked to your VIC card.
● It benefits you (your families, the school, and the community): here are just a few of the ways we use the funds donated by TIE - http://jchampeptsa.org/what/
