Dear Families,

This week, our fourth graders went on their first field trip of the year to Biomes Marine Biology Center in North Kingstown, RI. Students spent the day learning all about ocean habitats from scientific experts, and had a great day! Thank you to our PTSA for organizing and arranging this fun trip!

Next week is April vacation week, so we will see you back at school on Monday, April 24th. We hope you have a wonderful spring break!

Dear Palmer River Families and Friends:

The Health Office hopes you all enjoy a lovely April break. A friendly reminder for when the children return is to have the kids bring full water bottles with them to school. Recess and even some class activities will be held outside, weather permitting.

When students do not ingest enough water/fluids, they may exhibit symptoms of illness. In some cases, an individual is so engaged they do not realize they have not kept up their fluids until they are already feeling ill. We encourage the students to take sips all day, especially during warmer temperatures.

Signs of dehydration in kids:

• Dry lips

• Sticky mouth

• Infrequent urination or dark-colored urine

• Sleepy and irritable

• Flushed skin

• Lightheadedness

• Cramps

• Thirst

• Headache

• Rapid pulse

• Feeling excessively hot or cold.
