Parent Teacher Conference Night

Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday, December 15th, 6:00-8 pm. This is a fantastic opportunity for parents/ guardians to speak with their student's teachers. Last year we did this virtually and had more parent participation than ever before. This year we will offer in-person and virtual meetings. Parent Council suggested that we keep this as a virtual event as it is easier for parents to participate, yet many parents want to meet with teachers face-to-face. This is the best of both worlds. However, meetings are still limited in time and availability so sign up early.

Please note if you plan on meeting in person, you should be cognizant of travel time between conferences. It would be unwise to sign up for the 6:00 conference in Cosmo and a 6:08 conference with Ms. Gaffney, whose room is located on the other side of the building. Touch base with your student to know who is next to each other.

Parents/guardians whose student had any grades lower than a "C-" on their Trimester 1 report card should attend Parent-Teacher Conferences. All parents are invited and encouraged to attend. Trimester 1 Report Cards will be mailed on Friday. They are also available in the Community Portal (see below). This will allow you to understand exactly why your student is not meeting the grade in their class and how you can support him/her.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at: bterranova@capetech.us or at (508)432-4500 ext 2000.

Thank you,

William Terranova, Principal

How do Parent Teacher Conferences work this year?

Well that is a very good question!

Parents/guardians should have a list of their student's teachers on hand and click the link below. Parents/guardians will sign into

https://ptcfast.com/schools/Cape_Cod_Regional_Technical_High_School

where teachers are listed alphabetically by discipline/subject/shop. (For example is if you would like to meet with Mr. Dolan from Horticulture, you would find his name under Horticulture-Mr. Dolan.) You may sign up for multiple teachers and multiple students. After you sign up, you will receive an email with the link to the virtual meeting. Again by Tuesday, December 13th you will receive an email with the conference link. If not, please contact the teacher directly to see why you didn't receive one.

We limit conferences to 7 minutes to try to give as many parents a chance to speak to their student's instructor. This limits teachers to approximately 15 conferences for the evening, so please sign up as soon as possible. If your student's teacher is full, please reach out directly and they may have other opportunities to speak with you.
