A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School
January 13, 2023
Andrea Conner, BHS Principal
Hello Bulldog Families.
Friday the 13th is often considered an unlucky day, but this was not the case today as our staff was excited to spend the day with our students. We’ve completed the first full week of the second semester and students are starting to settle into their new schedules and routines.
Today, our sophomore students had the opportunity to tour the various programs at our partner career technical center, Live Oaks Career Center in Milford. Batavia High School is honored to support our students and their individual academic and career pathways as we recognize all students need to work towards their own goals. A lot of change occurs during the high school experience, and it is our desire that when students leave Batavia High School, they have a post-secondary plan that fits their chosen career path.
There are several important dates coming in February, so be sure to take note of the list below. February 6 is a required meeting for any families/students who plan to enroll in a CCP course this summer or upcoming school year. We will have parent/teacher conferences on February 8, the signup link is below, and a scheduling information meeting for current 8th-11th grade families on February 8 as well. The partnership between families and the school during the scheduling process is critical in providing the best support for each individual student. Please make time to attend these important meetings.
There is no school on Monday, January 16 in honor of Martin Luther King Day, so make sure you and your family enjoy the extra time this weekend.
In service to our Bulldogs.

- College Credit Plus (CCP) is Ohio’s dual enrollment program that provides students in grades 7-12 the opportunity to earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking courses from Ohio colleges or universities. The purpose of this program is to enhance students’ career readiness and postsecondary success, while providing a wide variety of options to college-ready students, at no or limited costs to students and families. If you are interested in participating in CCP or are currently participating in CCP, you must attend our annual information session at BHS on Feb. 6th at 6:00 p.m.
- Great Oaks Career Centers
- Great Oaks specializes in career and technical education for both high school students and adults. At four campuses, Great Oaks high school students prepare for careers and college, with over 30 career programs available. On January 13th, all 10th grade students visited Live Oaks and shadowed two programs. If a student is interested in a program that is only offered at Scarlet Oaks, students will be given the opportunity to visit there on January 23. Any student that plans to attend Live Oaks or Scarlet Oaks in the 23-24 school year needs to have the online application submitted by February 7, 2023 for priority consideration.
