Once the books arrive, Mr. Paradiso will invite your child/children to choose a book in their requested category. A special label stating that this book was donated in honor of your family or child/children will be placed inside the book’s cover. Your child/children will then have the opportunity to be the first one to check that book out of the library.

Blue Tiger Reading Challenge
Words from Parents
Perspectives from the Guidance Office
Like many parents, my wife and I juggled working, cooking, cleaning, and raising our kids. But managing the various activities for our kids became a part time job. Finding activities, registering for them, getting the required gear and equipment, and then driving the kids to and from these activities; it took HOURS every week. Now my kids are 19 and 15. One is in college, the other is a sophomore in high school. There is a lot less driving around. While I miss many things about those years, the constant running around is NOT one of them.
Writing for the website ‘Today’s Parent,’ Hannah Grieco writes about her radical approach to this issue: she stopped scheduling things.
https://www.todaysparent.com/family/parenting/my-kids-thrived-when-i-stopped-scheduling-them/
Give the article a quick read. For sure, this approach is not for everyone. However, it made me think of something my dad used to say: “Is the juice worth the squeeze?” How many times have you heard friends complaining about all the running around with their kids? Parents complain about driving, the cost of the activities, etc. But the universal complaint I heard when my kids were that age was regarding the time. Time is a real finite resource. Are the activities in which your kids are involved really worth the effort? Is the juice worth the squeeze for all of those activities? Makes you think, doesn’t it?

We are so excited to have parent volunteers back in the building this Fall! There are all sorts of ways you can volunteer to help, here are our immediate needs:
Family Fit & FUN with CrossFit377 Event Chairs
Show off a strong healthy heart to your kids and have a ton of fun! This is not your typical Crossfit class! All fitness levels and abilities are welcome. This event is super fun and a great confidence builder for the kids (and parents). We are looking for 2-3 event chairs to order goodies, liaise with CrossFit 377, manage registration and more for this March 3rd event. No fitness experience required, but MUST be willing to have fun! If you are interested, please email CASPTO@gmail.com to let us know!
FunFest Chairs
Do you love yard games, cotton candy and children’s laughter?! Then this role is for you! Looking for 1-2 additional chairs to join this amazing team! You will coordinate food trucks, work with inflatable slide and cotton candy vendor, organize volunteers, plan yard games and more. Planning starts in February for this May 19 event. If you are interested, please email CASPTO@gmail.com to let us know!
May Day Prep Chair
Like to get your hands dirty and shovel mulch? Then this is the job for you! Our May Day Prep Chair coordinates and communicates with volunteers and Town representatives for May Day at CAS! If you are interested, please email CASPTO@gmail.com to let us know!
COURTYARD READING GARDEN
Did you know that CAS has a courtyard? Unfortunately, during the COVID shutdown, our beautiful courtyard reading garden fell into disrepair. This year, the PTO will be working with the building to revitalize and rebuild this outdoor learning space for our children to enjoy. Our landscaping quotes are rolling in as we speak and soon we will be able to announce the grand plan and fundraising goals!
