February FFA Newsletter

Our February meeting will be held on the 6th in Ms. Escamilla's room (1701)! We will be playing an archery game for Valentine's Day and will have chick-fil-a! We can't wait to see everyone there!

Our students showed all kinds of projects including livestock, plants, floral arrangements, textiles, artwork, and photography at the Travis County Youth Show last month!

This month our students exhibited their projects at the Greater Leander FFA Project Show! We had many students place in the top of their classes and even a few come home with Grand and Reserve Champion Ribbons!

Officer elections are coming up next month! Speeches and the test will both happen on March 5th in conjunction with our March Meeting and interviews will be decided at a later date! This is an excellent way to check some boxes on your Lonestar degree requirements! Our officers are involved in creating our Program of Activities, planning chapter meetings, and overall are the people that run our organization! We highly recommend that you run if you are able to!

CDE season has begun! We are still looking for people to fill the nursery landscape team, if you are interested please contact maggie.bayer@k12.leanderisd.org ! Just a reminder, you have to be passing all of your classes to be eligible to compete at any CDE contest!

SDE season is coming up quickly! If you are interested please reach out to Ms. Escamilla or Mrs. Tidwell and have a speech written by March 1st! We are looking to have more people in Speaking this year, the time commitment is fairly minimal with the only competitions happening in conjunction with conventions!
