Stonybrook Red Storm Forecast

March 1, 2021

Stonybrook RedStorm ForecastMarch 1, 2021

From Principal Smith

Dear Stonybrook parents and caregivers,

Thank you for you continued support. As a parent myself, I understand how challenging it is to work and raise children. Your hard work is life changing though, and we appreciate being able to partner with you to get your scholars ready for high school and beyond. Please reach out if you have a concern or suggestion.

NWEA

This week we will give the NWEA Math assessment. Please encourage your scholars to take their time and put forth maximum effort during both test. The data from the test gives us very specific details regarding what each students has learned and what skills/knowledge they still need to be taught. Their teachers will use this data during small group instruction to target their areas for growth.

Have a wonderful week!

Mr. Smith

Virtual and Hybrid families can pick up food on Tuesdays from either 8:00 - 9:30 AM or 4:00 - 6:00 PM at Moorhead Community Resource Center located at 8400 East 10th Street. This Friday will be our last distribution at Raymond Park Intermediate Middle School and Warren Central High School.

Tech Support

To increase our tech support for students and families, we are expanding our technology help desk hours at Moorhead Community Resource Center. Starting next week, hours will be M-F from 7:30 - 8:30 AM and 11:00 - 1:00 PM. K-4 VIRTUAL students with iPad issues should be brought here. Chromebooks can still be brought to any of the three Intermediate Middle Schools during school hours, 9:00 - 4:00, Monday - Friday or the Chromedesk at the High School during 1st and 2nd period, Monday - Friday. If for some reason you are not able to access the above times and locations, you can also submit a help ticket through IncidentIQ by clicking on Technology Tab under the Explore Tab and then select Parent Tech Info.

Important P-EBT Update

FSSA has updated its estimated issuance date to February 28, 2021. I've attached P-EBT flyers that reflect the new English and Spanish (***Note: The FSSA flyers direct families to contact their school with questions). For more information, visit https://www.warren.k12.in.us/article/388678?org=msd-of-warren-township, which includes links to the FSSA P-EBT webpage and FAQs.

If your child is going to be absent from school

I would like to remind our students and families that attendance may look different depending on your model. That being said, attendance is an expectation and a critical indicator of a student's success in school. If a student is going to be absent from IN-PERSON or VIRTUAL, please make sure you contact your child’s school.

School District Publications/News Media Use

The occasion may arise when the school district wants to recognize your child or Stonybrook. This may include your child's photo, your child's name or your child's work in district publications, newsletters, on school district websites, and in electronic/social media or in staff training videos. We may also want to tell the media (including newspapers, television, and radio) about your child's achievements.
