Great Job!
What standard are you teaching this week?
Printing Progress Reports
Assignment comments WILL NOT display on report cards. You must place comment on the reporting term’s final grade for it to display on the report card.
Refer to slides 64-67 if you need help adding comments. PT Pro Training
Elementary - Penmanship
Penmanship scores are entered at the end of each nine weeks. We will send instructions at Report Card time.
Grade Verification Reports – How do we print or save digitally?
Here is a link to a step by step tutorial on adding progress report comments and printing verification reports.
PowerTeacher Pro does not have the “Gradebook and Comment Verification” report that we have used in the past. There are two options:
1. Print from Comment Verification Screen – you can print directly from the “Comment Verification” page. Although, it does print student names, grades, and comments, there may be formatting issues since this is not a print-friendly screen.
2. Use the Snipping Tool to take a screenshot of the Comment Verification Screen – you can take a screen shot of the “Comment Verification” page and save the image where you normally save verifications (ex: staff drive). All teachers should have access to the Snipping Tool on their district laptops. This is an easy option if you not printing the verifications and only saving them digitally.

PAS-T Info
We are excited about our move to an electronic PAS-T portfolio for the 2018-2019 school year.
For teachers who have a three ring binder, they can continue to use it. However we will no longer be purchasing binders. We have communicated to teachers who are being formally evaluated that they can use their binder this year or go all electronic.
To help support the move to an all-electronic portfolio, we have created a Google Drive folder teachers can use as a template for creating their online portfolio. If teachers would like to use the Google Drive format and this template, you can email them the following link and the attached user guide.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/18EfiwAhk7CUc9ZlnDHssw17Uez91Utau?usp=sharing
From this link, they will be able to view the template and copy it to create their own PAS-T Portfolio folder. They will need to download the file and save it their own drive as outlined in the user guide.
We are not requiring this format; however, this is just one option for creating an electronic portfolio. If teachers are already using a format or template they have determined works for them, they do not need to change to this option.
Teachers who are being formally evaluated this year will also receive this link from their ADEPT Teacher Leader following their Meet and Greets this week.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks

Word Study Kits for K-2
Good Morning,
I’ve received a lot of questions about Word Study Kit training based on our Tuesday discussion. Hopefully, the bullets below will be helpful. Let Kristy Jennings or me know if you have additional questions.
· All schools have received Word Study Kits for kindergarten. Our plan is to purchase first and second grade kits too. We will share the expected timeline for purchase and implementation once we have funding sources finalized. For now, our training opportunities are for kindergarten teachers and school leadership. Mr. McCoy will also clarify this information in next week’s principals’ meeting.
· The following sessions are provided in order to ensure that schools have the necessary supports to implement the new Word Study Kit curriculum. The expectation is that all kindergarten teachers will be trained and begin implementation this school year. You have several options for accessing teacher training as noted below:
o Principal/IC Training (pg. 1)—Word study training will be delivered at the September 18th Principal/IC session. All needed materials will be provided to redeliver this information to your kindergarten teachers. APs and AAs are also being trained in the same information (pgs. 10 & 11).
o Supporting Literacy Coaching and Instruction (pg.3) Word study training will be delivered at the September 21st session for Literacy Specialists and ICs. All needed materials will be provided to redeliver this information to your kindergarten teachers, including developing a school implementation and support plan.
o Teacher Sessions (pg. 4)—Teacher training is also offered, Part 1 & 2 sessions on either 9/25 & 10/2 OR 10/18 & 10/25.
o You can provide the Word Study Training for kindergarten teachers or have them register for the Teacher Sessions. Some of the teacher sessions are full, so please ask your first grade teachers, interventionists, etc., to “unregister” from the PD Portal ASAP so that spots can be opened for kindergarten teachers.
o Reading Interventionists do not need to register for the teacher sessions. Their sessions are listed on pg. 9
· Elementary Literacy Framework Support Sessions URL registration links can be accessed via the blue highlights…links directly to the PD portal.
Have a wonderful long weekend!!
