NEED TO KNOW
- There's a difference between suffering through and persevering. Both reveal character.
- Dismissal Procedure Updates: No students in the hallways until car riders are dismissed (except Safety Patrol & PreK/K); No student should be unsupervised during dismissal, especially on the grade level hallway; All staff and students are to be the building by 2pm daily; Do not send students to the restroom after 2pm unless an emergency.
- Lesson plans are to be readily available near the entry of your classroom and learning maps for prioritized standards.
- Per FCS policy, students are to have a minimum of nine (9) grades per subject per semester. Take advantage of your grade level PLC and IB unit planning to collaboratively determine which assignments or tasks will best reflect mastery.
- 7:20am-7:50am is meant for hands-on, one-on-one or small group instruction to remediate or enrich depending on who shows up. Take advantage of the time we have to improve outcomes for students.

Movement in Learning
Incorporating movement into instruction is an effective strategy. It helped Mrs. Allen's scholars meet the learning target for telling time using quarters.

LETS CELEBRATE EACH OTHER
Just A Thought
OPERATE IN THE LIGHT
- Affording students regular independent reading time with high interest books within Lexile band is a proven way to increase student Lexile levels. In 2017, over 85% of all students increase their Lexile level by at least 100 points in less than five months.
- Maximizing iReady tools and resources increases academic achievement on GMAS in ELA and Math. Using the prescribed lessons based on students' online instruction performance eliminates the guess work for teachers. Just work the program!
- Collective Efficacy is the best and most effective lever for increasing and sustaining student achievement. Thus PLCs should always include discussion of individual students, formative and summative assessment data, practicing and modeling of instructional strategies, and alignment of standards with instruction and assessment.
- Targeted small group instruction yields more immediate student growth.
- Start each lesson with a clearly articulated learning target, reiterate learning target, verbalize student progress towards mastery during the lesson, and ensure that teacher and student know if they have mastered the learning target.
- When negativity goes unchallenged, everybody suffers. Be willing to fight for good. Fight for students. Fight for our school.
