Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.

Miss Buffini would like to say "Congratulations" to all the Year 7’s on a fantastic start to the new year, you have all looked so smart and so many teachers have said how brilliant and polite you all are. We really hope you have enjoyed your first few days and enjoyed all the variety of new subjects and even if you haven’t experienced all that we have to offer you will over the next few days.
Thank you very much to our wonderful Year 13’s who helped out on the first day and to all our students at CTS who I have seen go out of their way to make the Year 7’s feel so welcome.

Mr Hallas would like to say well done to Year 12 and Year 13 on a wonderful start to the new academic year and, for our new Year 12 students, a warm welcome to the Sixth Form community . As a new teacher to the school, Mr Hallas been overwhelmed by your positivity and commitment to the Sixth Form. He would also like to use this opportunity to thank Morgan, Niamh, Debony, Jack, Dylan, Halle and Lee in Year 13 for volunteering their time to support and help with the arrival of Year 7 on Wednesday.

Year 11 students Dagan, Kamila, Tye, Katie, Klaudia, Shamiso, Bradley, Amelia, Tearlach, Leon, Jayme-Lei, Holly, Abigail, Daisy, Andrew, Tom and Annie for starting the new academic year on an excellent note and 10A2 for an excellent start to their GCSE studies.
Mr Horne has nominated Year 8 students Ashley, Shanice, Antoni, Sandra, Omayer and Connor for a great start to the year in Maths.
English:
Ms Hallybone would like to congratulate her Year 11 Drama students for their excellent work and dedication.
Mrs Rice would like to nominate Lily B in 7TE, Tillie 7CA, Chiamaka 7SW Keziah and Oliwia from 7TA for their beautiful work and presentation.
Music:
Year 7 – I have been really impressed with all of our Year 7’s in music this week. In particular, well done to Mirren C in 7TA and Archie M in 7CA for singing so confidently in this week’s lesson – What an excellent start to the year!
Year 8 – Well done to 8ST for their resilience whilst learning chords on the ukulele this week. A special mention to Amelia F, Orla M and Sebastian S for their fantastic listening skills!
Year 9 – Well done to Thomas L & Antoni M in 9TA for staying so focused during the lesson and producing some excellent compositional work !
MFL:
Mrs Sahota has nominated 8TA and 11A Spanish groups for their excellent start to the new year. They have shown great focus and effort.
Mrs Gonzalez-Villamil Lean has nominated her Year 7 classes who have dived into Spanish wholeheartedly, FANTÁSTICO!
Humanities:
Miss Gilbert has made the following nominations this week:
Well done to year 7 for completing your baseline activity booklet in your first geography lesson which will set you up for Geography this term.
Well done to year 8 students Peter P and Oliwia G for settling back into Geography straight away and showing your knowledge in the topic of climate change and development.
Well done to the whole of 10C for settling back into the term well and showing off your confidence in Geography in the first 2 lessons. A special shoutout to Harley and Armaan for completing a great longer answer on the UK landscapes.
Mrs Vaghadia has nominated the following this week:
8CA for winning the Year 8 elections and 9CO for winning the Year 9 elections. Excellent effort to all year groups for their participation well done.
Year 11 Sociology students for their excellent work in the grab a grade this week. It was an intense 3 hour lesson where students were focused and worked super hard recapping previous content and working on exam skills. Well done!
Year 10 Sociology students for their excellent start to the course this week. The group have been really good and very focused. Made a brilliant start to the course proud of you keep it up.
11TA RE for excellent contribution to the lesson and very engaged well done, and finally
9SW for great discussions in the lesson regarding our topic of Humanism. The class were engaged and worked really hard well done.
Mr Hallas would like to say well done to 7TA and 7SI Geography classes. What a great start you have all made – impeccable manners, perfect uniform, and a wonderful start to Term 1.
