The Literacy Connection

For our yearlong study of Falling in Love with Close Reading, Chris Lehman will be speaking to participants on two Saturdays during the 2015-2016 school year:

Saturday, March 12, 2016 8:30 a.m. -2:30 p.m. at Chapman Elementary in Dublin, Ohio

Christopher Lehman is an international speaker, education consultant and New York Times bestselling author. He is also the Founding Director of The Educator Collaborative, a think tank and educational consulting organization working to innovate the ways educators learn together.

His books include: Falling In Love With Close Reading with Kate Roberts; Energize Research Reading and Writing; Pathways to the Common Core with Lucy Calkins and Mary Ehrenworth; and A Quick Guide to Reviving Disengaged Writers. His articles and interviews have appeared in many publications and popular blogs including Voices in the Middle, SmartBrief, EdWeek, Choice Literacy and Talks with Teachers.

On Tuesday, January 12, Sally Oddi will be sharing new books at Cover to Cover from 4:30-6:00 p.m.

For those participants taking the yearlong study for college credit, Carol Price will be leading a study group meeting on Wednesday, February 10 from 4:30-6:00 p.m. at Slate Hill Elementary in Worthington.
