This Weeks High Frequency Words
How To Help With Weekly Words?
- Have your child chant out the word and do it with them (e.g. A-M, A-M, that spells am!)
- Have your child build the words with magnet letters
- Help the child build the words out of pipe cleaners
- Have the child identify the sounds they hear in the words
- Have your child rainbow write the words
Our goal is to help them remember these words and retain them throughout the whole school year and continued on for years to come. We want to make sure we are helping them understand these words. We also know how important these words are for successful readers.
How to Practice Numbers at Home
- Have your child count objects in your every day life (food, supplies, Legos, people, magnets, etc.)
- Help your child recognize and identify numbers around you (on packages, on signs, on toys, in TV shows)
- Practice writing and forming numbers using play dough, pipe cleaners, sand, markers, crayons, pencils, etc.
