La Tomatina
Spanish II and III students celebrated the festival of La Tomatina, held the last Wednesday of August in Buñol, Spain. Participants have a giant food fight and throw tomatoes at each other. Dodgeballs were substituted for tomatoes after doing the hard work of reading about the festival in Spanish!
Nurse's Notes--Keep Germs from Spreading!
- Drink a ton of water and stay hydrated. Water is life!
- Get plenty of uninterrupted sleep at night. Teens need 9-10 hours per night and adults need 7-8 hours per night. Your body repairs itself and recovers while you sleep (at night).
- Boost your immunity with Vitamin C intake by way of oranges, orange juice or vitamin C tablets/gummies. Boosting your immunity reduces your risk of getting ill and decreases the length of colds (by almost half).
