Aloha and Hau'oli Lā Lei!
April was a celebration of Lā Honua and a great month for supporting climate resilience work with CERENE. We did a lot of work promoting sustainability in education, practices on campus, learning about environmental change, and how to better this place we call Home. We appreciate all the connections, partnerships, and friendships we have made over these past months and we hope that we can continue to nourish these relationships in the years to come! While we are still a relatively new organization, we are continuing to build connections with local community members and make sure that we support the network that allows O'ahu to truly be resilient!

Visit to Ka'imuki Middle School!
Recently, we had the chance to visit the Voyagers Center and Food Lab at Ka'imuki Middle School. Dr. Miku Lenentine and Chris Fujimoto got to teach nearly 200 students about resilience, what it means to them, to Hawai'i, and about this concept of Community Resilience Hubs. The kids drew their own interpretations of a HUB with their school as the inspiration. It was unique to see how they each designed their theoretical HUB and what they prioritized. We look forward to continuing to work with Ka'imuki Middle School and seeing all that they are accomplishing as true Voyagers of the future!
