They are presenting their logos to classmates this week to get feedback and suggestions. After everyone has presented they will start on their final logo design. 6th graders are starting a collage and will be using mixed-media to create nature prints out of styrofoam and other materials. 8th graders just finished up printmaking with linoleum and are moving into creating complex patterns with repetition.
High school art
High school classes just finished a 4 stage unit on drawing eyes which went from drawing simple eyes with little detail to drawing a complex human eye and eventually an animal eye with texture. They are now moving into polymer clay pieces. For this, they are creating an armature (structure) that they will place clay over. The armature will hold everything together and they are learning that it is just as important as the detail that they put into the clay that will coat it.
