Au Gres-Sims Families and Community,
This holiday season my wish for everyone is to rest up and get healthy, taking the necessary precautions to not only enjoy the festive period, but to also recuperate from a difficult seasonal sickness spell. We have a lot of winter left to go before spring brings warmer weather and the relief of open windows, so please take the time over this 12 day break from school to rest, recuperation, and relax. This is the perfect time of year to sleep in, drink plenty of fluids, curl up with a good book, and dust off those old favorite board games for some quality family (and friendly) competition.
Happy Holidays Au Gres-Sims Community. May your days be cheery and bright and may everyone return healthy and ready to learn in the new year on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023.
Mr. Ming
K-12 Principal's Update
Happy Holidays to everyone! Hopefully it’s a time of relaxation, but also an opportunity to get some “small” things done with some of the extra time available. For our secondary students, I encourage you to use the time to get ready for exams and gradually prepare as it will be much more productive than cramming at the last minute. Not to mention much less stressful! At the MS level, exams are optional and are determined by the teacher. Some teachers will give exams, some will give shorter forms of assessment, and some may not give them at all. For our HS students, exams are required unless students have earned an “A” in both marking periods. If this is the case, teachers have the option to exclude students from taking exams or to still require them.
I look forward to seeing everyone back to school on Tuesday, January 3!
From the Desk of Ms. Socha
As I reflect on this past calendar year, I am reminded that although things are feeling a little bit more “normal” we are still navigating many changes that have come out of the last few years. When I think of all that we have been through, although some of it difficult, my heart is full when I think of how we have all worked collaboratively to get to where we are today. The staff, students, and community all hold a special place in my heart, and I am so grateful to live and work in this community. As we head into this much-needed break, I hope that you all are able to take the break to relax, unwind, and experience those little joys in life. I wish you and your family and Happy Holiday season and a very bright New Year. Here’s to 2023!
