Do you have a Kindergartener starting school at Page Hilltop in the Fall? If so, please join us on Wednesday, May 31st from 9:30-10:30 for our "Welcome to Kindergarten" Spring event. New kindergarten students will take a building tour, visit our Kindergarten classrooms, and enjoy a story with some juice and cookies in our cafe. Please consider joining us!

The Family Partnership is sponsoring several free events that will with the transition to Kindergarten for any student entering Kindergarten this Fall. Please click on the photo to read the flier. To register, please email Sarah Sullivan, ssullivan@asrsd.org.

We have been noticing a number of young students who are arriving at school each morning without their seatbelts on. Some students are even standing in their car as it pulls up for morning drop-off. This is, obviously, a very unsafe practice.

We understand that many parents are heading off to work right after you drop off your child. However, the few seconds that are needed for your child to take off their seat belt far outweigh your need to be at another destination.

We want to know that our students are safe at all times. Please take note of these concerns.

Mrs. Less' Class: Students in 2nd grade worked with Mrs. Perwak this week to do some spring plantings. Check out the fun that Mrs. Less' class had this week.

Matt & Gwen, both of whom are ASRHS seniors and former Page Hilltop students, recently visited some PH classes to teacher our students how to take care of our environment. It was a great experience for Matt & Gwen, our students, and the teachers who had them in class way back when.

For the past 6 weeks a group of PH students have been attending dance classes under the guidance of dance instructor Ana Sanchez. Ana is a high school senior, former PH student and long-time dancer. For their final class the students performed a dance routine for their parents.

During their visits to the book fair, students had the opportunity to create an appreciation card for members of the PH staff. These cards were then made into a "visual quilt" for all to see.

Thanks to our PTO, our parent volunteers & our school librarian (Jacqueline Anderson) for hosting another highly successful book fair. There is no better sight than a child with a book in their hand!

Reminder to all student leaders that we will be walking to the Ayer Police & Fire Departments after school on Tuesday. Parents are welcome to join us and should meet us right at school dismissal.

Have you registered for this year's JBR yet? If not, please consider doing so. Whether you prefer to walk, jog or run fast, there are opportunities for all of you. This is a wonderful community event with music, food and games in addition to the road races. Proceeds for the JBR are then used to support ASEF grant requests from our teachers. All around great day & event!

INCENTIVE CHALLENGE:

The grade level who has the most student participants will win a popcorn party for the entire grade level - compliments of O'Neil Cinemas!

The homeroom class with the most student participants will also win a pizza party for their class!

Please check your family schedules to make sure you have not scheduled any appointments, for your child, during these times.

You may have heard that there is a community group who are planning a 3-day town celebration in honor of "July 4th". Part of the festivities will be a parade on Saturday, June 24th. One of the ideas that is being promoted is for our school to have a float in the parade.

I would like to hear from our PH parents as to their thoughts on this idea. Would you like to be involved in the parade and have a Page Hilltop float? Are you available on the 24th to participate? Would you be doing this, as an individual family, or as part of a group (scouts, sports, club, etc.).

If you have any ideas/thoughts on this, please contact Fred Deppe and let him know.
