Today was a powerful and moving celebration of patriotism as we celebrated our Berryton Veterans. We were honored to have so many Veterans with us and the students did a great job of celebrating these individuals. A few reminders of things coming up:

• Student Council- Berryton Elementary excited to begin a student council! Student Council members are 4th-6th graders who represent their classmates as well as serve as a representative for a primary class. Student Council gives suggestions to the Berryton Leadership as well as plans a big project for a quarter. Members were selected from many who applied. Our first representatives will serve for both 2nd and 3rd quarter. We will have students apply again for 4th quarter representatives. • Celebrating American Education Week- Next week is American Education Week and we know that Learning is our Super Power at BES! Thus, students are invited to wear their superhero gear on Friday, November 18th.

• Teacher Wish Lists- Our next Buffalo Express will be sent on Tuesday, November 22nd and we will include teacher wish lists for the holidays at that time.

• Major Saver is Coming- On November 16th our students will attend an assembly to kickoff Major Saver. This is a fundraiser from the Shawnee Heights foundations and a large percentage of the money raised by Berryton students comes back directly to Berryton and must be used on items for students. We have used Major Saver funds for Recess equipment, field trips, and more.

As an elementary principal I enjoy working collaboratively with staff members to support student learning. I am passionate about continuing to learn professionally, and building relationships with staff and students at Berryton Elementary. When I'm not serving at Berryton Elementary I am usually with my husband and two sons. We can be found at sporting events, cheering on Kansas State University, or just enjoying a movie at home.
