A Message from Dr. Lowry

Timberwolf Family,

Thank you, Timberwolves, for an amazing week!

Please take some time to review this week's Timberwolf Times as it includes information about the upcoming week. On Monday, PTA will have a spirit night at Tad's Louisiana Cooking and additionally, our PTA will host our first Fun Food Friday of the year. All pre-orders must be made by September 14th. Please see information below if you would like to donate or volunteer for Fun Food Friday. We also had a great turnout at our first PTA meeting this past Wednesday, and by the way, they would love to welcome additional volunteers!

While speaking about our PTA, I would like to thank everyone who contributed to help us raise funds for the covering of our outdoor patio. With your help we were able to reach 89.5% of our goal. Thanks again for all your support.

If you would like to join our WATCH DOG group please plan to attend our Kick-Off meeting on Sept 20th. All dads are welcome!

Our athletes are working hard and would like your support as our football teams take on Tays JH, while volleyball teams will play at Katy HS against Katy JH.

We hosted our 6th graders to their very own pep rally on Friday! By the smiles on their faces it seemed to be a great success. We encourage your students to get involved and help spread the Timberwolf spirit.

Parents we are nearing the end of our 1st six weeks, please make sure to check HAC for your students grades.

There's also lots of information about joining our 7th grader Summer trip to Washington DC, Student Council, Science Olympiad, National History Day, and the 8th Grade Breakfast Fundraiser. Be sure to check it out!

As always please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Here’s to looking forward to another great WoodCreek week!

GO TIMBERWOLVES!

Sunday September 11th is Texas First Responders' Day

Today we observe Texas First Responders'. First Responders include fire, police, and emergency personnel. These brave men and women are the first on a scene to help their community when there is danger or an emergency. We honor the bravery, courage, and determination of Texas men and women who assist others in need.

Please take a moment today to remember those individuals who lost their lives as a result of the terrorist attacks against the United State that occurred on September 11, 2001.

VOLUNTEERS & RAPTOR REGISTRATION

Katy ISD is excited to announce the implementation of the District’s Raptor Volunteer Initiative for the upcoming school year. Beginning October 1, the district will require all volunteers serving on campus during the instructional day to register with the district through its Raptor security system.

Raptor ensures quick and easy volunteer registration allowing individual volunteers to create and manage a personal volunteer profile. In addition, the Raptor Volunteer Initiative will:

  • Provide an additional layer of protection for Katy ISD students, staff, volunteers, and campus visitors.
  • Unite all district volunteers into one Katy ISD volunteer community.
  • Measure and communicate the positive impact of Katy ISD volunteer organizations.

Once registered and approved, individual volunteers can:

  • Submit and track hours via their volunteer profile for every Katy ISD campus at which they volunteer.
  • The system also provides quick and easy submission of individual off-campus volunteer hours.

The volunteer registration requirement will extend to all volunteers serving on or off-campus, during or after the instructional day effective January 4.

Join our volunteer community and register today!
