MHHS Weekly Update

Hello MHHS Families,

Happy Friday! As 2021 comes to a close, we hope all of you are staying safe and warm. Our wonderful school community raised $1,393.52 for Connecticut Children's Medical Center via our P.J. Day! Thank you to all that contributed, for their generosity to this worthy cause. There will be an early dismissal for students on Thursday, December 23rd. School will be closed December 24th through January 2nd. School will resume on Monday, January 3rd. All of us here at MHHS wish you and your family a happy and healthy holiday season! Please see the rest of this bulletin for important information.

On Monday, December 20th there will be a concrete pour happening. This pour has been moved from its previously scheduled date. There will be O&G workers helping to direct traffic during the arrival time. Please be mindful that we will only have 1 lane of traffic.

Due to the change:

Chorus drop off will begin at 7:45.

Harry Potter Club and Math Fluency will be cancelled

TV club will continue as scheduled.

We've added some additional holiday fun to our countdown to 2022! Join us for some fun as we countdown to the New Year!

Monday 12/20: Wear red and green

Tuesday 12/21: Wear holiday or fun socks

Wednesday 12/22: Wear your favorite scarf or necklace

Thursday 12/23: Dress in your best holiday cheer

We appreciate everyone's cooperation during parent drop off and pick up. We wanted to send a few friendly reminders especially as the weather is getting colder and we have to deal with weather conditions that effect the roads.

• Pull all the way up. We know that naturally we are all inclined to stop at the doors, but for the safety of everyone, follow the staff member's guiding parents to a safe stopping point. We need to make sure we are getting as many cars off of Gillotti road as possible.

• Please remain in you cars.

• Children should be entering the car from the sidewalk side of the car and sliding over to their seats. It is dangerous to have kids stepping into the traffic.

• Be mindful of speed. As you are pulling out, please do so cautiously and slow to ensure no students are entering the road or other cars pulling out in front.
