2022-2023 OCA Mini-Grant Program
We know that many of our counseling programs are engaging in a process of evaluation and reflection as we head into the summer and are already making plans for the fall. What better time to envision how a mini-grant might support your intentions for the next year of programming!
Follow all of the general application process procedures below and submit your mini-grant application before May 22, 2022 if you'd like to be considered during the priority application window. All applications received after the priority application window will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
Purpose: Mini-grant awards are intended to support a counseling initiative that directly advances career readiness, academic growth, and/or social/emotional development with students.
- Six (6) awards* are prioritized for school counseling programs
- Two (2) awards* are prioritized for community counseling programs to encourage additional engagement with our community counselor members
*Actual distribution of awards may vary depending on the quantity of applications we receive from school and community counselor members.
- Must be a current OCA member in good standing
- School counselors and community counselors are encouraged to apply
- Mini-grant approval decisions will prioritize awarding grants to counselors and schools that have not previously received awards (if we have remaining unclaimed mini-grants by the end of the application deadline we will consider repeat awardees)
Procedure:
Submit the mini-grant application by the October 14, 2022 deadline.
Proposed mini-grant fund usage should support a counseling initiative that directly advances career readiness, academic growth, and/or social/emotional development with students.
OCA Board Members will review all submitted applications and select recipients.
Mini-grant recipients will be notified on a rolling basis.
Mini-grant recipients will implement the proposed activities before the end of the school year.
Mini-grant recipients will submit a Final Outcome Report by June 1, 2023 to show how the mini-grant funds were used.
