This Week @ PS 88Q
June 25th, 2023
Tuesday is the last day of school. It is a full day
A Message From Mrs. O'Shaughnessy
Well, here we are, the last two days of school. This school year seemed to fly by. My mother used to say the older you get, the faster it goes, and she wasn't kidding! Each day was filled with wonderful memories, huge accomplishments, new friendships, conquered challenges and more dreams for each student (and us staff too!). As we close the door Tuesday to the 2022-2023 School Year, and prepare for the 2023-2024 school year, I can't help think about each and every one in this community, and how grateful I am for you all.
I hope this summer serves as a well deserved break from routines, but also allows you and your family time for some fun. Whether it be days in the park, traveling to see relatives, time to slow down, time to make new friends (perhaps at Summer Rising) or just time to breathe, I hope it is everything you want. These two months will go by quickly as well, and we will be together again in September. I have attached the calendar for next school year below. Our first day back is September 7th.
I do work during the summer, so I can be reached if you have any questions. All of our staff are off for the summer, and do not return until September 5th. If you have any questions, always email me (loshaughnessy@schools.nyc.gov). I will continue some summer editions of our newsletter, so stay tuned! And our website will be update throughout the summer.
I wish you and your family the safest, healthiest and happiest summer. See you in September

Grade 5 Team
The Class of 2023
This past week has been a bittersweet week. We celebrated our rising 6th graders, but we will miss them. For some, it was their first year at PS 88Q, for others, it was the end of their 7 years. But for all, it was a celebration, an acknowledgement that they are ready for the next step, and all of the best wishes we could send. They are now PS 88Q alumni, and that is a very large community. Please come back and visit us, and remember, PS 88Q is always your home.
