Hello, Onondaga Road Families -

Welcome back to our new school year, 2023-24! We are excited and ready to see you all!

Our first day of school is Wednesday, September 6, 2023, and this is a full day for all students, 9:00 a.m until 3:10 p.m. Rest up! We have a lot planned for the days ahead!

Please join me in welcoming three important Onondaga Road staff members to our front offices:
Mrs. Susan Hayes-Penhollow - Counselor
Mrs. Carrie Heaphy - Nurse
Mr. James Schwartz - Psychologist
We are lucky and proud to have them join our school team, and they look forward to working with all of our families.

Hopefully you found all of the information you received in the mail helpful, and you are ready to go with transportation to and from school on the first day. You can find your bus information on the ParentVue App, and if you are tranporting your child, be sure you have a "car pick-up tag number." If you have any questions, or if you still need a car tag, feel free to give us a call on Tuesday so you're ready for Wednesday.

Many thanks to our custodial crew and all of our Onondaga Road teachers and staff for the countless hours they have spent getting our school ready for our children! Thanks also to our Onondaga Road PTA for providing lunch on Thursday for our teachers and staff, which was our first official day back!

At this time, and with school starting on Wednesday, we are not able to process any last minute transportation change requests until later next week. If you have a transportation bus change request, we will gladly accept it and help you, but it will not take effect until Monday, September 11, 2023.

Our transportation supervisors have the routes ready to go and are making changes to requests that have already been received. All of our drivers are practicing their current bus routes and look forward to seeing their students!

If you are in need of making a change to take place in the future weeks, or if you have any questions, you are welcome to contact our transportation department directly at (315) 487-4576.

Our Onondaga Road School Curriculum Night is being held on Thursday, Septemer 14, 2023.

A note regarding the time for each grade level is being sent home with your child on the first day of school, so be sure to mark your calendar for your specific time. This night is for parents/guardians to connect wtih your child's teachers and learn about curriculum, expectations, and the structure of teh school day.

Our yearbook committee would love to have your first day of school photos! Please consider sending a photo for us to use in our 2023-24 Onondaga Road School Yearbook.

Please submit your photo to yearbookoroad@gmail.com. Use “First day of school” in the subject line. Include your children's names and grades in the body of the email, and include the photo as an attachment. Be sure to send only your favorite photo of OR children, as we won’t be able to include more than one per family or child. We appreciate your help in making our yearbook awesome!

Our PTA is hosting a Back to School Ice Cream Social on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at 6:00-7:00 p.m. Onondaga Road families are welcome to join us on the school playground for an ice cream treat and to meet classmates and friends.

Our first PTA meeting will be held in the library at 5:30 on September 14, just before the start of our meet-the-teacher Curriculum Night. We would love to have you join us! This is a great way to learn about various ways you can be involved and maybe volunteer for school events. Also, watch for a PTA Membership form coming home in your child's backpack the first day of school.

Here at Onondaga Road, we have a before and after school child care program run by the YMCA. If you would like information about the program, please feel free to contact the YMCA directly at 315-474-6851. You can register for the program on the YMCA website.
