November 13 - 17
Message from Mr. Nelson
Dear GMS Families,
This weekend, we recognize veteran's day as a time to say thank you to those who have served our country. We are very grateful for the sacrifices made by our military veterans and their families. To say thank you, we are having a veteran's day assembly for each grade level in the GMS auditorium on Monday. We would like to invite any family members of our students who are veterans to attend so we can say thank you. We are grateful for our community and the work we get to do together for our students.
Have a great week!
Jacob Nelson

Club Meetings This Week:
Club Spotlight: Bike Club
Momentum Bike Club at Gettys Middle School provides youth with a fun and safe environment to explore our world on two wheels. We have weekly rides to the Doodle Trail from the school. We have four different groups ride Tuesday through Friday; we typically have 2 teacher mentors each day. Our youth gain confidence as they learn bike safety and basic bike maintenance, how to ride wisely using the right gearing for the right terrain, and how to communicate effectively with fellow cyclists in a group. Youth are surprised by how good they feel with regular exercise and how far they can ride when they bring a spirit of determination. There’s only one thing more fun than riding a bike; it’s riding a bike with friends.
