We would like to welcome Marc Walter, who has joined us as the new High School Assistant Principal.

Marc is a 1997 graduate of Wyomissing Area High School. He received his bachelors of Arts in Public Relations from Shippensburg University in 2001 and was a four year member/letterman in swimming. He then earned his elementary education certificate from Kutztown University in 2005. Marc taught 6th grade in the Wyomissing Area School District for two years before being hired at Montoursville in 2007. He taught 5th and 6th grade in Montoursville until 2015 and was then hired as the Assistant High School Principal in the Warrior Run School District. Over the past four years he served as the High School Principal at Warrior Run.

Marc lives in the district with his wife, Lisa, and three children who all attend Donald E. Schick Elementary school.

Daniel graduated from Loyalsock High School in 2000. He is married and has three daughters, Lily (8), Juniper (6) and Laurel (3). He lived in Denver for the last 13 years and recently returned to PA for the quite, humble beauty of the hills and creeks.

His passions include mathematics, music, dancing and hiking. He also enjoys coding and chess, when he can find the time.

Laura lives in Williamsport with her husband and two children, ages 6 and 8. She obtained a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Moravian College and then worked for the Commonwealth of PA for 8 years. She is an active Realtor with Premier Real Estate where she has worked for the last 6 years.

Laura loves spending time with her family and friends. When she's not at her daughters dance class or her son's baseball games, she's probably doing home renovations, baking or dreaming of her next Cape May vacation. She loves to help people and make people smile.

Previously a school nurse at BLaST IU 17 Academy for Integrated Studies-South since 2018. Mrs. Fessler will take on the role of certified school nurse for the middle and high school succeeding Mrs. Carley Smith.

Mrs. Fessler holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lycoming College. Her certification is in school nursing PK-12.

Her hobbies include swimming, taking walks, reading, and cooking. She loves the beach and hosting family gatherings.

Congratulations to Mrs. Betsy Thomas on her retirement! You have touched the lives of many students and your absence will be felt by many! You will be greatly missed by both students and staff at LTHS. We hope that you enjoy your next adventure!

High School Auditorium

9:00 – 11:00 a.m.

The orientation provides us all an opportunity to meet with one another in both a large and small-group format throughout the morning. Current LTHS students will assist in the building tours and be able to offer specific insight into the various questions you may have about Loyalsock.

This year’s program includes:

• Introduction to the freshman experience.

• High school schedule and Lancer Period

• Functional aspects, including: building tours & locker access

• Student life, including: extra-curricular clubs, activities, and athletics

• Graduation requirements and career planning

If you are new to our school district, both student and parent will attend a brief iPad informational meeting following the conclusion of orientation at 11:00 am. If you were never issued an iPad from the LTSD, you will be required to pay a non-refundable $50 usage/insurance fee and complete paperwork. Please be prepared to pay for this fee at the orientation.

We look forward to meeting all of our new students who are entering Loyalsock Township High School. If you have questions in advance, please feel free to contact the school by calling 570-326-3581.

For the 2021-2022 school year, we will again utilize the Parent Portal to verify and update guardian contact information for your student. This will allow you to update your information at any time! This process will also acknowledge the receipt and acceptance of a number of district policies including, but not limited to the student handbook, technology agreement, and photo consent.

The Google Chrome browser is strongly recommended when completing the Contact Verification process.

Please access the Parent Portal from the Loyalsock Township School District website. If you already have an account, you can enter it as usual to begin the verification process. Instructions to complete Contact Verification are contained in this video tutorial.

If you do not have a Parent Portal account, you will need to register for one. Instructions to create an account are contained in this video tutorial.

If you do not verify this information, you cannot move forward to view your student’s schedule, locker information, etc. This information will become available by 8:00 AM on Thursday, August 19.

Mrs. Rippey, school counselor for grades 9 and 10, welcomed her son to the world on July 29. She is currently out on maternity leave and is scheduled to return to LTHS on Monday, October 25, 2021.

Daniel Tripp placed 7th in Political Science at the State Leadership Conference.

The Memorial Grove is a gift to LTHS from the Class of 2020, to honor the life of a classmate who lost his battle with leukemia. With the help of the Christian Houghtaling Foundation and the Loyalsock Marching Band, the Class of 2020's dream became a reality. Please be sure to stop by the next time you are in the Kenneth Robbins Stadium.

LTHS has again been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a 2021 Nationally Ranked High School. We were also ranked in 2012, 2014, 2015, 2018 – 2020.

LTHS is ranked #1,813 (top 8% of all high schools) in the National Rankings, #62 (top 8% of all PA high schools) and #1 in the Williamsport Area. Schools are ranked on their performance on state-required tests, graduation rates and how well they prepare students for college.

The data suggests that one of our strengths is our ability to continually “chip away” barriers in order to close the achievement gap for historically struggling subgroups of students on Keystone Exams. Additionally, we continue to make strides with the number of students choosing AP coursework and performing well on those AP exams.

On August 8, 2021, CI was presented with the PIAA District IV Coaching Excellence Award, in recognition of being the winningest coach in PIAA Basketball History. Congratulations CI on receiving this honor!

During the 2020 - 2021 school year, our sports programs celebrated 1 State Championship, 5 District Championships and several medals at the Track & Field State championships. In recognition of that great accomplishment, Senator Gene Yaw presented our coaches and athletes with special citations from his office. These citations were presented to the teams that earned these titles.

Congratulations to all our sports programs and we look forward to another exceptional year!

Student ID cards will be distributed to students on the first day of school. It is very important that ALL High School students have their student ID on them each day for lunch.

Loyalsock Township School District is in need of van (PA Driver’s License) and bus drivers to transport students to and from school each day on unique and established routes. If you are interested or know of anyone that would be interested in this opportunity, please contact Mr. Egly at the District Service Center.

Do you have the LTSD School App? It's a great tool to help you keep up to date with everything happening in the LTSD. Just visit the App store, search Loyalsock, download and then in settings, add the schools you want to follow. You can also copy things from the calendar onto your own personal Google Calendar, as well!

There have been some updates to the attendance policy, please note the changes below:

Unexcused late arrivals to school will be classified as either Level 1 Tardy (entering up to 8:30 AM) or Level 2 Tardy (entering from 8:31 AM - 10:00 AM). The consequences for these events are cumulative and are listed below.

Students entering school after 10:01 AM until 12:15 PM, without a parent note or medical note, will be charged a unexcused/unlawful half day.

Students entering school at 12:16 PM or later, without a parent note or medical note, will be charged with a unexcused/unlawful full day.

Students will have three (3) school days to turn in parent notes and five (5) school days to turn in medical notes, for absences to be excused.

Students will only be permitted two (2) excused tardy's, with a parent note, per semester.

Please be sure to review the 2021-2022 Student Handbook on the High School website, for more detailed information on our student attendance policy.

1. Parking is assigned by placard number. Students may park in the rear lot adjacent to the middle school or in front of the high school (across from the flag pole).

2. Students found parking in the faculty/student parking spaces will be subject to revocation of parking pass and towing at student’s expense.

3. If a lot is filled, you may park along Loyalsock Drive.

4. Safe and proper driving on school property is mandatory.

5. A $5 non-refundable deposit (cash) is required to receive a permit (hangtag) to park. If you lose your permit, you must pay for another one.

Applications and permits are available in the High School office.

2. Parent completes application and signs electronically
3. Student/parent emails application as an attachment to: workingpapers@loyalsocklancers.org
4. Once received, the student will be contacted and instructed to come into the office to complete the working permit (parent does not need to be present unless online application could not be filled out and submitted electronically).
