Great things are happening at WCS!

RUN CLUB FUN RUN 5/3
MIDDLE SCHOOL DANCE TONIGHT!
Tonight (Friday, 6/2) the Student Leadership Team is holding a dance for our Middle School students. The dance will run from 6-8pm in the WCS cafeteria. Students will be treated to the musical stylings of DJ Deltoid, and snacks will be provided. In lieu of an entrance fee, we are asking that students bring one can of wet cat or dog food to donate to the Midcoast Humane Society.
NO LONGER ACCEPTING RETURABLES
WCS ROYALTY DAY
On Friday we celebrated ROYALTY DAY at WCS for reaching the school goal of earning over 700 Woolwich WOW Tickets. Students earn these tickets by following the Woolwich Way and being respectful; responsible, honest, compassionate, courteous, and for creating quality work. Students were welcomed to school with a glamorous red carpet and were treated to luxuries like lemon/mint water, flowers on the lunch tables and classical music at lunch!
PTA NEWS
We will be holding our final meeting of the year on June 14th, and we would love to see you there! We will be bringing snacks to share and meeting outside on the playground (weather permitting), and wrapping up our business for the year. If you're curious what the PTA is all about, this would be a great meeting to attend!
We will also be holding elections for our 2023-2024 officers at this meeting. The board consists of a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. If you are interested in running for an officer position, or just have questions about what that entails, please submit an email with your interest to mywcspta@gmail.com. All requests to be put on the ballot must be submitted by June 13th.
THIRD GRADE VISITS MORSE MOUNTAIN
Last Friday, our third grade students took a field trip to Morse Mountain in Phippsburg! Students spent the day exploring and experiencing the natural surroundings as part of their science unit. They finished up by writing about the trip in their journals to document all that they saw.

SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT
- IT'S OFFICIAL: The last day of school for K-12 will be Thursday, June 22! This will be a half day for students, with dismissal happening at 11:55am. The last day of school for Pre-K will be June 15th!
- Ms. Devin held Art classes OUTSIDE this week! Students practiced their drawing skills amid the natural beauty of our blooming gardens. This annual event is an obvious favorite. Students worked hard on their drawing and Ms. Devin did a superb job of arranging the weather this week!
- This Friday we were visited by former WCS Guidance Counselor and current Maine State Senator, Cameron Reny! Senator Reny stopped by classes to talk about her work in the Maine Legislature. It was neat to hear more about how our state government works.
- 8th Graders participated in step up day at MHS this week. We are so proud of this class and look forward to seeing all the wonderful ways they make the world a better place.
A local veterinarian visited our Pre-K class and shared ways to keep our pets safe and shared different tools that she uses for animal care. Thank you, Dr. Messina! This week Pre-K enjoyed a helicopter fly-over from a pilot friend...we got to talk with the pilot on the walkie-talkie too! Thank you, Ms. Alex and Drew!!
This is the place to get all your WCS-branded clothing and accessories.
