MNS: Standard and Non Standard HTML
When exporting your MNS HTML, you can choose standard or non-Standard HTML.
Not all Mass Notification Systems support standard HTML. So using the standard HTML may make your newsletter appear differently than your original because of the system you're trying to send your newsletter with.
Selecting Standard or Non-Standard HTML:
1. After publishing your newsletter, click the "Mass Notification System" button.
2. Enable or disable the type of HTML you need by checking the box.
3. Copy the HTML code.
FAQ'S
How will I know what systems use standard HTML?
Typically, most platforms should support standard HTML. Any platforms that are not using standard HTML may cause issues when reading the code and display the newsletter differently than the original. Additionally, any recipients viewing the newsletter through Outlook may view the newsletter differently than the original if the platform you're using does not support standard HTML.
Please note: For the best result, we recommend sending a test email first from your chosen platform to preview how the newsletter will appear.
Do you happen to know which platforms I should disable standard HTML for?
At the time of publishing this article, Swiftk12, and ParentSquare do not support standard HTML. So your newsletter may appear different than your original when embedded into these systems if you've selected Standard HTML. In these cases, you can use the non-standard HTML code as it will likely appear closer to your original newsletter.
However, without the use of standard HTML, the platform you are using may alter the code so that any recipients viewing the newsletter through Outlook may be viewed differently than your original newsletter.
Before I had the choice, everything was working fine. Which one should I select?
If you've been sending your newsletter by exporting the MNS code before you had the option of selecting Standard or Non-Stand HTML and everything was working great, you can continue using Standard HTML.
Again, we recommend always sending a test email from the system you're using to preview how your newsletter will be viewed by your recipients before sending it to your mailing list.
