COVID Protocol Update
Tuesday, March 1, 2022
Dear Families,
In today's communication from the Chancellor, we learned that DCPS is no longer requiring outdoor masking of staff, students or visitors while on campus, effective immediately.
Tomorrow morning, children may play mask-free before lining up to enter the building. When they line up, they will be expected to put on their mask before their teacher brings them inside.
Please discuss this change with your child, including ideas for how to keep track of the mask during morning play time (pocket, under chin, wrist, lanyard, backpack, etc.) If children lose their masks, we will provide them with a disposable replacement.
Please also note that some families may choose to continue to have their children mask outdoors and that is ok, too. If you want your child to continue masking outdoors, please discuss that expectation with your child and note that Ross staff cannot manage and monitor that decision.
Due to the timing of the announcement, teachers will discuss the policy change with children in Morning Meeting tomorrow. I have included a social story created by DCPS Social Workers that we will refer to when discussing the change.
Thank you for your ongoing patience and support as we have navigated this challenge. We look forward to seeing your children's smiling faces tomorrow.
Warmly,
Holly
