Parents - We need you!
A site council is a commitment to the school in hopes of making it the best school it can be. It is a time commitment, but it is also a commitment to seek solutions to areas of weakness in our system. A great school is always seeking ways to improve and a site council helps to lead those improvements.
If you would like more information about serving on the Pleasanton High School site council, please contact Sara Conley at sara.conlely@usd344.org.
Teacher Inservice 11/1
What do teachers do at inservice?
Our goal is to establish ourselves as a high-reliability school. A high-reliability school is a school that has systems in place to ensure that students' needs are met in a timely fashion with more effective strategies and support. While there are 5 levels to attaining this goal. Our work this year is in the first three levels:
Level 1: Safe, Supportive and Collaborative Culture
Level 2: Effective Teaching in Every Classroom
Level 3: Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum
During our time together at our inservice, teacher teams met in four areas to review current data and make recommendations, and set goals for improvement. This information and these recommendations will feed into our KESA school improvement plan. It is our belief that “the answers are in the room”, given the correct information, and the correct support our staff can create and implement solutions to problems we see.
Sportsmanship and Rule 52
At all events, our goal is to provide a positive experience for our athletes and coaches. We want to cheer them on, provide encouragement and support them whether they win or lose. PHS Pride has been a goal this year, and our students have risen to the occasion, they show up and cheer each other on. I am so proud that our student section is growing into a fun and positive environment for our fans and athletes.
Below is the link to Rule 52 from KSHSAA - I encourage you to review these rules with your family. As we approach basketball season, you will see more leadership from our students in the area of sportsmanship, prior to each game our athletes will provide these reminders to fans to help promote a positive environment.

Has someone been exceptionally helpful? Did someone do something to make your day? Did a teacher go the extra mile to reach your child? Is there a community member who supports your student or all students?
Please take 2 minutes to recognize a staff member or community member who has made an impact on you. People who make an impact make our school a better place to be!
