What's Happening at Griffis

Oh how we love this time of year at Griffis. We love the excitement in the eyes of the children each and every day. We love hearing the laughter, the singing and the wonderful stories. It truly is the most wonderful time of year. As we close out the year, we would like to thank our students, parents and community for their support during this 2021/2022 school year. We are looking forward to next semester and all the milestones our students will achieve!

Our next scheduled Parent Lunch on the Lawn is Friday, December 3rd!

Lunch times are listed below. You may bring food for your child or they can get a tray from the cafeteria. You may park in the front or back of Griffis and enter by the soccer fields. Please arrive early so that you have plenty of time to get settled in before your child’s lunch time. We are looking forward to seeing you!

If the weather does not permit, the lunch will not be rescheduled and will resume the next month.

Griffis PTO invites you to participate in our Hot Chocolate 1 mile run. The run will take place on Friday, 1/7 at 7:15 AM. The route will go through the Caddo Downs neighborhood located behind Griffis. Students, parents and community members are invited to participate. Please complete this registration form for EACH participant. Cash or check only as a form of payment. Send money to the Griffis office with labeled registration names. Make checks payable to Griffis PTO. Registration includes a T-shirt and Hot Chocolate.

Students not in the building by the 8:00 A.M. bell are considered tardy. Please refer to our campus handbook regarding our tardy policy. If your child is tardy, please do not drop your child off. For their safety, your child should be signed in. Please come to the front to sign them in.

New guidance from the United States Department of Agriculture allows all students to receive breakfast and lunch at no cost during the 2021 - 2022 school year.

With this announcement, CMISD will continue to process applications for the free breakfast and lunch program. This will ensure qualifying students will receive free lunch and breakfast during the first 30 days of the 2022 - 2023 school year. Applications will be sent home at the beginning of the school year and will also be available at each campus.

We want to show our appreciation for our WATCHDOGS that volunteered the month of September. Our students enjoy the time and high fives. Thank you for spending the day with us!
