Just a couple quick reminders regarding our morning arrival:

• School starts at 8:00. Students should be in their classrooms at this time. Please help your children have a good start to their day by arriving at school on time.
• When dropping off your child in the car line, you need to pull all the way forward. Please do not stop directly in front of the door. We have a lot of cars dropping off and this causes additional road congestion on Burr.
• Please support your child in being able to independently get out of the car in the morning. Parents getting out of the car to put backpacks on can also cause additional road congestion. If your child needs support, you are welcome to park and walk your child up to the sidewalk.
• If you are here after 8:00 am, you need to sign your child in. Please park and walk your child to the front door and use the sign in sheet in the vestibule.

This year we are sponsoring 17 kids with holiday wish lists through Big Hearts of Fox Valley. If you are interested in helping fulfill these wish lists, please click here. Please note, when accessing the sign-up genius on the computer, there are tabs across the top of the sign up that will bring you to each child's individual wish list. On your mobile device, there will be a drop down menu at the top of the screen to view each list. Want to help, but don't have time to shop? Make a donation through PushCoin and PTO will shop for you!

We are excited for our upcoming Veterans Day assembly. This year we will be celebrating Veterans Day on November 10th! Veterans Day is a day set aside to honor American veterans of all wars. Many of us know or have known men and women in our families or friends who have served in the armed forces to defend our country. This year Ferson will take time to honor these individuals by acknowledging their time served at an assembly beginning at 9:00 am on that day.

If your child has someone in your family, or a friend of your family, who they would like to invite to attend our assembly please rsvp to Audrey Hughes at audrey.hughes@d303.org, no later than Friday, November 3rd so that we can plan accordingly.

On the last student attendance Monday of each month, students will respond to the "Sense of Belonging" portion of the Panorama Survey. The information will be used to understand student's and groups of students' connection with school.

CogAT testing for 3rd grade students will begin on Tuesday, November 7th. 3rd grade will test on November 7th, 8th and 9th. 5th grade will test on November 8th, 9th and 10th. Please find a letter from our assessment office regarding CogAT testing here.

Spirit Mornings are back! Each month we have a theme to welcome students into their school day. If you are interested in helping bring some excitement to school drop off from 7:40 - 8:00 am, sign up here.

If you have a planned absence, please be sure to use our pre-arranged absence form. This allows our classroom teachers and office to be prepared for your absence. Please reach out to Audrey Hughes with any questions.

We have many students who have negative balances on their lunch account. This means they cannot purchase a la carte items, or purchase a second lunch if they are still hungry. Please check to ensure your child has an up-to-date account on PushCoin.

District 303 is pleased to present its lineup of Parent Education sessions for the 2023-2024 school year.

The Parent Education series (formerly Parent University) includes informational meetings and workshops intended to empower parents and guardians to support their children’s academic, social and emotional needs. Become informed on specialized topics, engage in two-way dialogue with speakers and fellow parents, and become a support resource for others.

Sessions for this school year will focus on bullying prevention, addressing anxiety, and include film screenings and discussions about the impact of screen time and cultural awareness. The schedule also includes college preparation workshops hosted by our high schools. Sessions were selected based in part on feedback from District 303 parents.
